After seeing a TikTok about the newly refurbished Marks & Spencer Oxford Street, I had to go and experience the foodhall for myself and it did not disappoint. The space is beautifully designed. Open, modern, and incredibly well laid out. It feels premium without being overwhelming, and everything is easy to navigate. The variety of products is excellent, with something for everyone, and the overall presentation really elevates the experience. A standout feature is the water wall, offering a selection of different waters. A small touch, but a very cool one. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I don't get why there are limited seats located in one corner on every floor (I think) at least that was the case on level 1 in which seating can only be found near the footwear section & there are plenty there but that's purposed for customers to try on their shoes as opposed to them sitting to rest for a bit I think so, that's a bit counter intuitive in my opinion. It would be more customer-friendly to have seating area located at adequately spaced distance from one another on every level for custoners to rest for a bit if they wanted to. Then, I've no idea why there are only toilets located on the top most floor as opposed to having one on every level which would be more customer-friendly in my opinion. The cafe has food which was good in value at least that's what I thought after paying for the meal & the food is decent as well in taste with the variety of different sauces that can be added from the sachet packets to season your meal further. Oh & lastly, perhaps with the cosmetics do remove the tag at the point of payment being made for it because failure to do so then can trigger the alarm system as one is walking out of the store (which happened to me & I'm not gonna loe when I say that I felt embarrassed by this momentarily). Fortunately for me, the security guard was reassuring of the whole situation.
The Food Hall layout needs a rethink, particularly the Organic section. Salad items and fruit and veg right next to RAW meat, not just offensive to vegetarians but totally wrong and unhygienic (potato’s next to raw chicken, lettuce and cucumbers right next to a rack of lamb, what the heck??). Also shelves are too high causing wastage (example organic blueberries on top shelf not displayed properly and hard to reach).
Amazing refurb and great clothes but to many self serve tills and not enough devices for a high online company. Also no signal and bad wifi. Tried to return and reorder something but gave up today.
We had a quick visit to this store yesterday and I just want to say thank you to two members of the team here . . first, Jerry who is one of the security team and who was super helpful at showing us where the departments we wanted to find were . . but more than that, whilst we we're having some lunch in the basement cafe, we noticed hthat this is simply how he approaches doing his job, super happy, enjoys meeting people and really refreshing jolly manner in greeting every guest and helping them . . we don't come to London as often anymore and its not often you find staff members like this . . great job jerry, we think you are an asset to the team and wish you well. Second, Leoni in the women's lingerie department, she was another exemplar alongside Jerry of fantastic and very rare exemplary customer service . . super friendly, 100% knows her products and how to recommend and we never felt rushed by her. So again, thank you M&S , with the staff like these of many years experience and knowing how to look after customers, we don't think you will ever go wrong 😊
Newly revamped M&S Food and Coffee Shop at the Pantheon Store. The coffee shop has that Pret vibes to it and I like the way you can get a slice of the Rainbow cake without buying it whole. The food section offers fresh pizzas, roast chicken [previously there], a whole section for Rose wines as well as glass bottled mineral waters.
I needed to exchange some money to USD to use in Africa, I do not like those off the street money exchanges so I went into Marks and Spencer in Oxford Street (they always have a forex exchange burreau which I always use and they're all very good) . I did not know where inside the shop it was, so I asked one of the employees where is the the Forex Exchange. It's first reply was a question, what currency do you want? My answer was I just need to know where the forex exchange is, you don't need to know what currency I'm exchanging. His response "oh yeah but you know, it's closed down and they only do Online requests". This shop's management should really ensure they don't have their staff running parallel money exchange businesses.
HIGH PRAISE for the staff at the 173 Oxford St store on 5 June 2026!!!! Every interaction I had with staff was exemplary. From greeting to helping me find the product, every single touch point was quality and genuine care was shown. I wish that all M&S staff could follow the example set by 173 Oxford St, notably the staff at Marble Arch and Eastbourne.
