Harrow Central Mosque & Masood Islamic Centre

I am writing this review to raise a serious safety concern. On Friday 2 January 2026, after attending Jumu‘ah prayer (around 1pm), my purse was stolen. It contained my ID, driving licence and house keys. My only intention that day was to come and worship in the House of Allah. While looking for help, a nearby shop employee told me that thefts around mosques during busy times like Jumu‘ah happen often, and that women are frequently targeted, especially those carrying handbags. This is deeply concerning. A mosque should be a safe place for Muslims. Unfortunately, I did not feel supported, and the security response lacked kindness and empathy at a moment of distress. I urge the mosque management to take this issue seriously, reinforce security (especially during Jumu‘ah and Ramadan), and consider involving the police if this is a recurring problem. The mosque represents Islam in the community, and people should not feel unsafe attending prayer. ⚠️ Advice to women: please be extra cautious, keep your belongings secure, avoid carrying valuables if possible, and remain vigilant when entering or leaving the mosque, especially during busy times. I sincerely hope this feedback leads to better protection for worshippers, particularly as Ramadan approaches.

The women volunteer staff in this mosque are extremely bad mannered. They have no respect and shout at everyone like they own the mosque. I They have very bad communication and understanding skills and need to be removed asap. I seriously should have called the police over how they handled a situation. I will be making a formal complaint to their office aswell. Be aware of how rude the women staff and I also think they might have some mental issues. Nice mosque but horrible horrible staff. They are ruining the lovely calm environment with their bad mannered staff.

Lovely mosque. There is a whole floor dedicated to the women’s section of the mosque. There are also different prayer halls depending on the needs of the visitors. For example, there is a separate room for those who wish to pray using a chair, or a room where children under 11 can accompany their mothers. The staff are very professional and the wudhu facilities are clean, disability friendly and there is both on street parking, as well as free parking during Jummah prayer at Harrow Council’s staff parking lot. Previously used to visit London Central Mosque, but now this is my preferred mosque.

A beautiful masjid with excellent facilities. Our uncle’s ghusl and Janazah were carried out here. During a very difficult time for our family, the mosque provided an important service. Unfortunately, there were some delays due to staff shortages, and the ghusl was postponed because of this, which added some stress to the process. That said, the security team did an outstanding job in keeping the mosque safe and well-managed. There is also free parking available opposite at the civic car park, which is very convenient. The masjid also hosted an iftar where many local residents attended. It was heartwarming to see so many people being served, especially those struggling to access a hot meal. May they continue their good work and service to the community.

Harrow Central Mosque is a peaceful and welcoming place for prayer and reflection. The prayer halls are clean and spacious, making it easy to feel comfortable. The community is friendly, and the mosque offers inspiring Friday khutba and helpful programs for all ages. It’s a wonderful space to connect with your faith and with others.

Really good service when I attended a family funeral. Staff were very nice and very supportive abd also very patient. The overall mosque building is great.

As a Shia Muslim I did not feel out of place like some mosques make me feel. Nice space to pray, clean and well maintained. Would definitely come again. I wish other Sunni mosques were tolerant to other sects of Islam and made them feel more welcome. Well done to Harrow central mosque!!
