SHABABS Balti Restaurant - BEST BALTIS

Had a great experience at Shababs recently. We booked a table for 15, which can sometimes be a challenge for any restaurant, but everything was handled smoothly from start to finish. The food definitely lived up to expectations. The shish kebab was a standout, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The lamb karahi paired with pilau rice was another highlight, rich, comforting, and well-balanced. The fish pakoras were decent, though not quite on the same level as the other dishes. What really made the visit enjoyable was the service. The staff were attentive throughout, checking in regularly without being overbearing, and made sure everything ran seamlessly for a large group like ours. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for group gatherings or family meals. Only downside is parking, which can be a bit tricky around Ladypool Road. You’ll likely need to rely on nearby side streets or a local car park. Overall, a very solid dining experience and somewhere I’d happily return to.

The chicken tikka masala "korma" jalfrezi? With cream, Not really sure what it was call was the best Indian dish I have ever eaten in any restaurant! I would travel there just for that dish, unbelievable

Easily the best Balti I’ve had. Great food, generous flavours, and a fair price. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole thing even better. Highly recommended.

Good balti Positives were the masala chai and the two balti curries we ordered - chicken in one plus lamb and mushroom in the other. Negatives were the mixed grill (very average) and the price (£60 for two people with no drinks is too much)

Great Balti's. Really enjoyed the chicken garlic chilli masala, got it desi hot, was hot but enjoyable. Mix grill was nice too. A recommended restaurant.

Usually 8 or so of us eat there weekly. And, if I were taking a guest or client to eat it would be here. The staff are excellent, attentive , friendly, first-class. Price is irrelevant where quality is concerned. In my view, I've eaten on Ladypool Rd for 45yrs: Shababs is No1 One complaint: for a road that specializes in exceptional cuisine the local area is disgraceful regards cleanliness (this is not a reflection on the restaurants, rather on very poor council management). Shababs, is spotlessly mantained and serves exquisite food!

I was eager to try this place due to its popularity/reviews and I was craving an authentic curry for dinner the place was busy as it was Sunday evening I opted for a takeaway as not many tables were available at the time and I did not want to wait for too long I had the chicken tikka chilli garlic masala curry and garlic naan the curry was spicy and delicious the naan was a bit rubbery but had sufficient amount of garlic in it the service was quick and hospitable recommended.

The best place to get a proper Birmingham balti and guaranteed to be one of the best curries you will ever eat. I have been eating here for 10+ years and it’s always on point. The service and hospitality from the team is amazing.
