As a Bengali, I can honestly say this is some of the best food I’ve had in a long time! The Beef Kala Bhuna was incredible—easily the best I’ve ever tasted. I also tried multiple types of Shutki Bhorta, and every single one was authentic and delicious; it’s rare to find that variety done so well. The Special King Prawn Curry had the perfect spicy kick, and overall, the food was superb. The staff were friendly and provided great service. If you want a real taste of home, this is the place!

Whenever we have deshi food cravings, Ponchokhana is always our go-to place😍 We've tried their deshi breakfast and tiffin/lunch items to their akhni and wide variety of sweets. My husband is especially fond of their sweet curd as he says it's the best he's ever had! As a working couple, we don’t always have time to cook, so Ponchokhana has become our favourite escape whenever we crave homemade-style deshi food😁Their vorta selection is a must-try! Honestly, it's not just the food that keeps bringing us back ,the warmth and politeness of every staff member truly add to the experience. Both my husband and I are food lovers and enjoy exploring different cuisines, but when it comes to authentic deshi flavours, Ponchokhana is always our first choice. Even our 15-month-old baby enjoys the love and affection from the staff. It’s heartwarming to see how they treat him with so much care. Just last week, I took one of my non-Bengali colleagues there to try the food. We had fuchka, chotpoti, the trio biryani, and tandoori chicken which I was tasting for the first time myself. The flavours were incredible! Even after I got home, I told my husband we must have to explore their entire menu. Every dish brings something unique and delicious to the table 😋

I've been Poncho Khana many times and the food has always been amazing especially the borthas. The prices are very competitive and the service by brother Mamun is always top tier. They are very generous too they always provide complimentary fiyazi and mishti. In this day and age you rarely get anything free but these brothers provide this to every customer. A definite must try if you have not been yet. Keep up the good work brothers!!

Superb experience at Ponchokhana! We came for authentic Bangladeshi food and left very satisfied. The Tiffin set meal and Mixed Kebab Platter were excellent, and the Magoj Bhuna is a must-try. Portions are huge! While the Beef Kala Bhuna was a bit different from back home, the overall quality was great. Special thanks to Mr. Dulal and the staff for being so family-friendly, they made our group of 6 (including 2 kids) feel right at home. The complimentary Peyaji and dessert were a beautiful touch. Professional service and a great vibe. We’ll be back!

I went for the Iftar buffet. They had decent amount of options. But most of the chicken items were dry and tasteless. The haleem was quite good. I didn’t like the fried things they were very soggy and things were not enough. They run out of meat curry and biriyani. It was packed with people and not enough space for all the people to walk around and get the food. The lamb chops were okay. I only recommend the lamb chops and haleem. I liked the chai they had. It was good.

The service and food here was amazing. Food is was delicious and mouth-wateringly presented and service professional and very friendly and very attentive. Thank you Mamun for a very delightful experience. I would highly recommend everyone give this place a go you won’t be disappointed. I look forward to going back again.

Really disappointed with the ramadhan iftar buffet. Just to clarify ive been here recently and the food was nice. So, I decided I’ll go to the Iftar buffet for the first time. If you are interested in the buffet I DO NOT RECOMMEND it. There was items missing from the buffet which was advertised on tiktok. The quality of the food was crap and I can see why this is. Its a buffet after all. Been to quite a few buffets but never thought of going back to the same exact ones. Some of the foods were mushy (aloo chopped and fish pakora). Some of the foods were bland. Everyone knows during ramadhan our eyes and hunger gets the better of us. Unfortunately we had a few little bits left and was unable to finish it. We asked if we can have takeaway which they said no. Being from the bangladeshi origin myself and Ponchokhana being a bangladeshi business, you would think the people have a heart and kindness like the rest of the bangladeshi community but no. An absolute shame to see that they refuse to allow customers to takeaway and would rather throw it in the bin. So much food was left over and goes to waste, but now I begin to question is this food re-used as there was a massive quantity leftover? I am very observant and noticed another table of customers were packing some food. Now I don’t know if they brought something over the till or if they were packing their food away. I highly doubt they’ll make purchases over the till to takeaway when they’ve just had a buffet meal… Just to add when I previously visited, a complimentary item was given. I was given takeaway boxes but needed 1 more. I asked the waiter as he was cleaning up my table, he said no as it’s complimentary. My mother makes better food at home😂 and im sure the rest of your mothers could. Really disappointed with their lack of service. Never been so disappointed within people of my culture. Will not be returning here. There are many more Bangladeshi eat out spots.

Great experience here. Lovely food and a very personal and attentive service. Extremely busy when we arrived, however they were very welcoming and gave us a temporary table to wait at until a more convenient and comfortable table became available. Very authentic and flavoursome dishes. The traditional Borthas were a delight. Parking available off road and easy to locate. Highly recommend this if visiting Birmingham
