YMCA & Yakima Rotary Aquatic Center

Customer service is great! Workers are great in general. Just feels like the aquatic center is more aimed towards adults in general. Not a very big pool for a bunch of kids to be in, gets crowded easily. Also, water is so cold! Every time I take my little ones, they are shivering and can't really enjoy it to the fullest.

This YMCA on river road really needs to invest in preventative maintenance because there is always something broken. In the three months that I had a membership the hot water, several lifting machines, the lap pool, steam room, and dry sauna were down for repair for several days. This is unacceptable when you are trying to have a consistent routine as a gym enthusiast who strength trains, swims, and uses the sauna daily. Sadly, some of the machines are still not repaired because members remove the sign so staff give up on repairing the machine (terrible excuse). Staff is nice and welcoming. One downside to having a staffed facility is that they are closed for some holidays, which again, impacts consistency.

Very friendly staff greet you as soon as you walk in, the place is immaculate, other patrons appear to be respectful of the space and its rules. Gor a tour from an incredibly helpful staff member who's name I cannot remember for the life of me.

8/04/2021 (5 Stars) My wife & I brought our granddaughters (ages 11 & 9) here today and WE ALL HAD A WONDERFUL TIME!! The family locker room worked well for my wife & Granddaughters for changing. I liked having a separate private area to change as well. The free lockers worked great for all of us. I was able to swim/splash with the kids, then get the camera for pictures, then put the camera back in the locker. VERY HELPFUL and convenient. The toy/splash area, lazy river, and water slides were a big hit. Later we used the lap pool for races. All well placed and the water temp was awesome. My wife loved the hot tub. WE WILL RETURN - WITH OR WITHOUT ANY GRANDKIDS!!

Book your spot early. They go fast in the summer. Very nice helpful employees. Clean. Lazy river so much fun. Kids loved the slides. Therapy pool is wonderful for aches n pains.

Terrible gym for gym go-ers. High price. Broken equipment. Small amount of weight equipment for the amount of people there. I would use this gym if you have a family to use the swimming area and occasionally lift weights.

Wow, what a great lap pool and weight room! I saw the water ex participants moving through the Any river--so cool.

This is an amazing facility, but I have 2 complaints. #1 - the lap pool is much too warm. It used to be cooler, but they've turned the temp up, and it's now somewhat uncomfortable to lap swim in for an extended period of time, and the showers have ZERO water pressure. None at all.
