I took a detour to walk the trails here and was blown away by how peaceful the water looked against the trees. The paths are paved and very well-maintained, which made it an easy and relaxing stroll even after a long day of driving. I saw plenty of people jogging and walking their dogs, but it never felt too crowded because the area is so vast and open. It is a fantastic spot to get some fresh air and clear your head while enjoying the nature views right near the city. I especially liked that there were plenty of benches along the way to just sit and watch the birds over the water.
I had a wonderful experience here. Just being able to walk by the water and feel the breeze on my face. It had restrooms, a water fountain, benches along the trail and areas for picnics. I did see a snake so be mindful if your intention is to picnic. Very dog friendly.
Two main trails, one 2 miles, one just under 4 miles. They're paved, mostly flat and great for walking, running and biking. The trails wind in and out of forest, and there are views of the reservoirs around every corner.
Have been mountain biking in here since I was a kid. I still ride in here almost everyday during the good weather on the paved roads and dirt trails. It is absolutely beautiful and a great workout. Highly recommend it to anyone for walking an/or bike riding.
I grew up here. Have not been in this area since the late 1980s. Had to come to town today for an appointment. I’m recovering from some health issues and decided it was a good opportunity for a long walk. It is wonderful this whole area is still open to the public. Lots of people making use of it.
Only disappointment…. Idk people I remember to be friendlier. I remember meeting people on trails and stopping and chatting a bit. It was always fun. Now many seemed either so tuned on to themselves or so plugged in to teach did not even exchange as much as a smile. I guess it’s just different than I remember 40 years ago. I’m not sure if this new antisocial plugged in lifestyle is healthy for us or not. But fortunately there were some older folks that were very very friendly.
I've retreated here several times for peace and sometimes a bit of exercise. Even on more crowded days, one can go deep into the park and not see anyone. Heavenly views abound. Lots of fine picture taking opportunities. Clean and well maintained.

Incredible trails, and beautiful views. The hike up to the top is somewhat difficult but is well work it for the views. The trail was covered in occasional fallen branches/trees from hurricane Isaias, but nothing you can't walk around. The day we went, we saw a baby deer on the trails and it walked right up to us!!
