Welcoming place with impeccable service. The food menu was abundant and the piece de resistance had to be the freshly made tortillas that were made to order, with the avocado salsa made in front of your table. Will be back!

Don’t usually leave reviews but I think it’s important you hear my experience before you go spend a lot of money in this place. You won’t find any entree for under 22 dollars and you can find much better food elsewhere, even across the street at those taco stands for a quarter of the price. We asked the server for a recommendation and he said to get the super verde burrito. I love wet burritos never gone wrong with one till this one. 22 bucks of a mouthful of blandness. No flavor, I think they skipped the salt and pepper part of cooking. Unfortunately the chicken Fajitas were an even worse mistake. Their chicken was super dry and some pieces burnt. 30 dollars for a plate that tastes worse than Chipotle. I think the server knew the food is bad so he didn’t bother asking how was the food at the end of the meal. This was less of a concern for me, but the patio has a rat problem. we told the server, they seem to be aware. The positives: the vibe is cool, the chips are good and the tortillas are the best part. Everything else felt like a joke I think this place must’ve been good in the past, feels like one of those places that sold out cause it became iconic. Don’t recommend

We absolutely love La Cabana! Located in the Bermuda triangle of tacos, this vibrant restaurant is the sister to its more Hollywood counterpart across the street, Casablanca. The restaurant offers booths, tables, and a big bar inside but I personally prefer the patio out back. Good salsa, awesome happy hour, and large portions, I definitely recommend La Cabana for a night out with friends. 🍻 Xx, H

I’ve been to La Cabaña time and again over the years and always enjoy eating at this venerable local establishment. The food is good, the servings are big, the prices are fair and the service is great. I like El Verde, a huge burrito stuffed with chicken, pork or beef, and smothered with a tasty green sauce and served on a bed of rice and refried beans. I also like the guacamole, which is fresh and can be ordered mild or spicy. I wash it all down with a spicy michelada made with Modelo beer. The vibe is casual and relaxed and my favorite spot is the outdoor patio. If you’re in the area, I recommend this spot.

Nice dinner spot. Enjoyed the food. Tried the carne asada meal, chicken taco and carnitas taco. All quite delicious. Carnitas was a little oily but still good. Carne asada dish was flavorful and prepared well. Good service. Will be back.

This is a beloved local place that has entrees from 10 to $30 offering an array of standard and novel Mexican dishes. The food is tasty, flavorful, and high quality food products. The service is superb at all levels. Most of the people who work there have been employed by the organization 20 and 30 years, as all of the employees are listed with their time of service at the front door. It's remarkable. The only drawback is that, in spite of the interesting and pretty decor, it seems like there could be a little more done with it to add to the already nice experience. The food and service are both there, but I wish they had created more of a moment and a unique experience by pushing into the culture a little more with either music or quiet live music, or some other tokens of interest. Very good. Worth going back. Kind people.

La Cabana has been around since the 60's and not much as changed there. Parking is easy and the service is pretty good. The food is traditional Mexican food and it is good, not great. They have the typical combo plates and they have a few nice desserts. Their drinks are good with a nice selection of call liquors. What is great about this place and sets it apart from other typical Mexican restaurants is that they make their own tortillas and they are always fresh, at times you need to wait a minute for someone to make them. They are always worth the wait. If you are in Venice, this is a good place to stop before or after the beach. If you are no where near it, the time is better spent elsewhere. They have take out and delivery as well.

While down here from Canada on vacation, my wife and I came here strictly because this was my father in-law's favorite restaurant in the 70's when he lived in Santa Monica! And boy did it ever impress. The service was attentive and the staff were friendly. We came at lunch time and we got two lunch specials for $12.75 each. I got the beef tacos and my wife got the chicken enchiladas. Both plates came with beans and rice. Both plates were very filling. There was also complimentary chips that came prior to our meal arriving. This restaurant has been around since the early sixties, and we can see why. Its also open until 3:00am for those who are hungry for a late night meal.
