West End Beach

Beautiful location. Clean beach. Friendly attendants. Clean bathrooms. Fun playground for the kids. Food trucks available to grab good food or a quick drink. My son got the swirl ice cream and loved it.

nice beach during the summer. free play during the winter. visited in March 2026 after a snow storm. took the family to play in the snow and built a Snowman.

Very nice. Along the way to West End Beach there were like mini piers that were public. We ate lunch on one of them. That was very cool.

We parked on the side of the road to avoid $10 fee. We walked along the beach and up the paved roadway for 2 miles. Nice view of Donner Lake! The restrooms are not open!

$15 per adult. The place is clean, not crowded, and has plenty of barbecue grills and picnic tables — perfect for families or anyone looking to relax and enjoy the water. As soon as you get into the water with your kayak, paddleboard, etc., head to the right side of the beach. You'll find the Donner River — just go under the bridge and keep paddling. It’s an amazing experience! You’ll be gliding through the beautiful backyard views of local homes. Just remember to respect the residents and keep things peaceful, and you’ll have a great time. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Clear water and super scenic view! This particular beach is pricey. You'll have to pay around $20 per adult. But the beach is clean, there is boat and kayak rentals. Two kids grounds with slides and swings. A place for volleyball, basketball court, tennis court. You can buy some basic drinks and snacks there. The main point is shallow shore you can let kids roam in the water without too much worry, lifeguards active on site. Overall a nice place. Oh did I mention barbecue pits? 😉 I do recommend to visit it for a season at least once!

Packed on the Fourth of July. Come early (before 11 a.m.) fpr parking on the major summer holidays. Absolutely beautiful beach and great people. Dog friendly as well

Soft sand here unlike rough and dusty rocks at the east end. Nice staffs too. The utility and open space can be nicer.
