A fellow plant nerd friend recommended I include a visit here during my stay in Phoenix. I got there at 7:30 in the morning and left close to 11:00. I've been to many Botanical gardens and arboretums, and this one is a do not miss for sure. I walked 5 MI, and still didn't see everything. I found it to be very well laid out, easy to navigate, and full of very interesting plants, artwork, and excellent educational signage. Don't pass this one up. I will be back to traverse the paths and trails I didn't get to in this visit.

Excellent visit today. Admission is very reasonably priced, with kids under 5 free, and memberships making entry free for those under 18—a great value for families. There’s an incredible variety of plants to explore, tons of well-maintained trails, and beautiful open green spaces throughout the arboretum. The gift shop has a nice selection of plants for sale as well. It’s also very dog-friendly—we saw plenty of four-legged friends enjoying the trails, which was great to see. Accessibility is another big plus, with many trails available for visitors with mobility considerations. Overall, a fantastic experience and a place we will definitely be returning to.
A truly wonderful, clean, and picturesque place. The reception staff are incredibly kind, and you'll enjoy the beautiful views of cacti in all their shapes and varieties. You can stroll along the paths between the trees and cacti, past the lovely lake and the magnificent house at the top of the hill. You'll find yourself in another beautiful world, surrounded by a wonderful family atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying its ambiance.
I love gardens and have been to many and was a member at a few back east. Thought this was very nice. Had a lot of grounds to see and walk and had a lot of different cacti species and other plantings. Although I think the time of year, which was in March, was a little too early to see things in bloom. Beautiful and quite secluded area. Live up in North Scottsdale and was surprised how in the middle of no where it was. Nice to see areas still natural instead of being built up. It was a very nice.
While we live close to Tucson Botanical Gardens and enjoy visits frequently, we decided to take a trip to this place early in March. What a beautiful and amazing place! Started in the 1920s or 30s, it houses a terrific variety of arid climate plants. Nestled in a small canyon, with a stream feeding a pond that they use to irrigate, there are numerous trails around the place to see a great overview and trails through shady gardens covered with humongous Red Eucalyptus (80ft+), Cottonwood and Mesquite trees and plant beds under this area with varieties of plants, succulents and cactus from all over the world. One of the most beautiful places we have visited. Liked it so much we bought a membership and can now bring guests to see the wonder!
Loooove this place so much! A great variety of plants and landscapes! Enjoyed the hike and wonderful scenery. Learned a lot and learned to appreciate desert plants while walking through the different gardens. We were lucky to see some wild coatimundis, too! 🥹
Our experience was wonderful. There are beautiful views everywhere with miles of comfortable walking paths. An amazing diversity of flora and fauna to keep any artist or photographer happy for days. All the staff and volunteers that we met were extremely knowlegeable, helpful and friendly. This is a great place to go in January and the little town of Superior, AZ is close by for all your shopping and dining needs. We learned more the wildlife and plantlife of the desert than we thought possible and plan to return often. For artists and photographers, visiting in the late afternoon is recommended to catch the best light, but it is all beautiful any time of day.
Must stop if you are in the area. We went on a 92 degree day, walked all the way around the loop, saw so many cool plants and tree’s. The little creek is so cool running around the back side. Very nice plants for sale. They have a nice gift shop and items were not very expensive. I would come again!
