It took me awhile to make this review because I wanted to be careful and honest about my experience here. We brought our Cane Corso here as a puppy for an ear crop procedure. I personally did not even want to put her through it, but my boyfriend decided to move forward with it anyway. Throughout the process, we were very responsible about follow-up appointments, retapes, and showing up on time. At one point, the doctor specifically told us to let her ears “do their thing” and said a retape was not necessary. We trusted the advice and went about a week without posting/taping her ears. Within that short time, we noticed one ear started drooping while the other stood perfectly. We immediately became concerned because we felt like we had simply followed the instructions we were given. When we returned, instead of helping correct the issue conservatively, the doctor recommended another ear crop revision procedure. We ended up paying another $200+ for an additional trim to supposedly help the ear stand better. I already had a bad feeling about doing more cutting because I was worried it would make the ears uneven. Unfortunately, over time, the ear dropped again anyway. At the end of the day, this experience felt more focused on making money than genuinely caring about the outcome or the animal. I understand ear cropping can be unpredictable, but I do feel we were guided poorly and then pushed into paying for another procedure that did not solve the issue. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment based on my experience.

Because this business chose to respond rudely—something they seem to do consistently to anyone who leaves an honest negative review—I am submitting an additional review on my sister’s behalf. My sister clearly informed them before the procedure that her Doberman’s docked tail was infected and that he was currently on antibiotics and steroids. At no point did their staff request to review or verify these prescriptions. After she paid and received the medication breakdown, she consulted her veterinarian to confirm whether the medications they provided were safe to combine. The vet explicitly stated they were not, warning that mixing them could cause severe gastrointestinal damage, including a hole in the intestine. When my sister returned to pick up her dog and responsibly raised this concern, instead of acknowledging the mistake, their staff became hostile and spoke to her disrespectfully. This was a clear failure in communication by their vet assistant, yet they chose to deflect blame rather than take accountability. The following day, she called requesting a basic post-procedure care sheet—a standard and reasonable request. She was told they “couldn’t provide one” and that they “didn’t know what to tell her.” Completely unacceptable. I called angry and they sent one right over. Seems they had a personal problem or wanted more money. To make matters worse, her puppy’s paws were cut and injured from improper Dremel use. The dog was under anesthesia—completely still—meaning this injury occurred solely due to carelessness and inattention by staff. The pattern here is clear: dismissive behavior, lack of medical diligence, refusal to take responsibility, and a consistent tendency to blame clients instead of owning their mistakes. I am beyond disgusted by how this business operates. Do not bring your dog here. Their treatment of both animals and owners is reckless, unprofessional, and unacceptable.
I initially hesitated to visit Ear Trim after reading some reviews, but I’m very glad I decided to move forward. We’ve brought our dog here twice—once for an ear infection and once for cherry eye removal—and both experiences were excellent. The doctor is very straightforward and matter-of-fact, which I personally appreciated from our first phone call. We’re both from the North, where communication styles tend to be direct, and while that can sometimes be misinterpreted as rude, it’s simply how we communicate. Don’t let that deter you. The level of care is top-notch and extremely affordable compared to other veterinary clinics. Additionally, the entire staff is knowledgeable, kind, and professional. I would absolutely recommend this practice.
I recently had my dog’s ears cropped and was incredibly impressed with the level of professionalism and care provided throughout the entire process. From the initial consultation to the aftercare instructions, everything was handled with great expertise and attention to detail. The team was knowledgeable, gentle, and made sure my dog was comfortable every step of the way. The results look fantastic — clean, symmetrical, and healing beautifully. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for quality and compassionate care!
If you need an affordable place to euthanize and/or cremate your pet this place is perfect. Half the cost of even the "low cost" vets around town. It was still done in a respectful and caring manner and ashes were ready for pickup within a week.
I was extremely disappointed with the service at Houston Euthanasia. I brought my 17-year-old dog in because he was declining and it was time to say goodbye. Making that decision was already incredibly difficult, and I was looking for a place that could provide a compassionate and respectful experience. The website advertised euthanasia for $100, but after the procedure I was charged $160 due to additional fees that were never clearly explained beforehand. While the price increase was frustrating, it wasn’t even the most upsetting part of the experience. The facility itself felt very impersonal, and the doctor who performed the procedure appeared unprofessional — his clothing looked dirty and disheveled, which did not inspire confidence or comfort during such an emotional moment. While waiting in the lobby, another dog was euthanized before mine. The doctor then walked through the lobby carrying a Target shopping rolling cart and told the people waiting that he would be transporting the deceased dog through the lobby in that basket to the back room. Seeing this while I was already emotional about saying goodbye to my own dog was extremely distressing. When it was my turn, I was asked if I would be comfortable helping hold my dog during the procedure. I agreed at first because I didn’t know what else to do. My dog moved slightly when they attempted to place the IV, so he was given a tranquilizer and the doctor left the room for about 10 minutes. When he returned, my dog was conscious but unable to move. I stayed with my dog, petting him and talking to him so he would know he was loved. The doctor then asked me to hold my dog’s neck, apply pressure to his arm, and twist it while he administered the final injection. At that point I told him I was not comfortable doing that because I was afraid I might do something wrong. Eventually a technician came in to assist and the injection was given. My dog passed, but the entire experience felt chaotic, impersonal, and deeply upsetting. In such a vulnerable moment, pet owners deserve compassion, professionalism, and dignity for their animals. I understand that this clinic provides a lower-cost option, which can be important for many people. However, the way the process was handled made an already heartbreaking situation even more traumatic. I would not recommend this facility if you are looking for a peaceful and respectful environment to say goodbye to your pet.
Took our doberman puppy for ear cropping, and they are amazing! Just got done with the process, and his ears look great! Follow their directions and your dog/puppy should do great! The price for the procedures and follow ups cannot be beat! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Cash only, which is okay with me because I realize businesses get charged a big rate for credit card usage. Plus you pay each time you visit the clinic, so you don't have one big bill to pay at once. They have upfront pricing, unlike vet offices. Like any other clinic, some days it is really busy, other days they are not, no appointments mean first come first serve. They have you sign in, and I have never waited a long time for my puppy to get seen.Negative reviews on here tell people not to go here because all the dogs have infections, this is NOT TRUE! We have been to the clinic for 7 weeks and the dogs are all healthy. I like that the clinic has a relaxed feeling and the money spent goes to the staff and vet not the high overhead of an overpriced vet office. The negative reviews are also from people that don't follow their instructions correctly, the vets can only do so much. The vets here are here because they love what they do and they are very experienced.
