I love this place. Old school in the best way. Some of the best Italian food I've eaten. More Mediterranean than heavy red sauce, lasagna, etc. . Grilled octopus white bean salad, baked clams, clams on white sauce, roasted peppers with marinara, chicken and peppers, veal with brushetta. Family style. I was in a food coma.

Visitor notes
I was on business in Queens and someone recommended that we should go there. When we arrived it looked like it was closed, but it was open. A great family owned Italian (Napoli) restaurant since 1968! No menu, the items are listed in the wall in the back. Our waiter from Albania (worked there for 10 years, as great). He recommended baked clams (excellent) and stuffed mushrooms (really good). We ordered Veal Marsala and Veal Parmgiana - both fantastic. No hard liquor available, but good Italian Wine. I had a Tartufo (Italian Coffee like rocket fuel). Overall a great place for families with large portions. We enjoyed it.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent meal was disappointing for our table of 5. Judging by the quality and presentation of the food the focus here is for the kitchen to quickly clear orders. The Baked Clams for $34 were unfortunately mushy, consisting of wet - rather than being properly toasted - breadcrumbs in a pool of butter and garlic. The $31 house salad was bland, featuring entirely flavorless olives. How does that happen? The Chicken Scarpariello ($40), like other reviewers have mentioned was dry from either sitting out and reheating or just overcooked. Either or it was not good. We left a lot of that on the table. The Filet of Sole had zero flavor. That was the consensus from everyone at the table. We left it unfinished. Not worth $46. The pasta with meat sauce was like no other I've ever had. The meat was overcooked and hard which made for a strange bite. The Shrimp Lucciano was good but nothing exceptional. Lots of butter, onions, and a splash of wine. Absolutuely not worth $49. The Calamari in marinara was good.
Does Google allow 6 stars?!? Absolutely mind-blowing, good food. Bring cash, I called 30-minutes ahead, full house walked in and immediately our 8 people party was sat down. Thank you.
Don Peppe is a classic Italian spot that keeps it simple and does it right. The baked clams are flavorful and perfectly seasoned, the shrimp Luciano is rich with a great lemon-garlic kick, and the linguine with white clam sauce is fresh and well-balanced. Consistently solid all around. My go to spot!
Worth the hype. Just exceptional family style Italian American food. We got the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, veal don peppe, stuffed artichoke, tiramisu, and cannoli. 10 out of 10. Everything was perfectly cooked and fresh. The portions are enormous. Make the trip.
A lovely, warm family restaurant. The food is always fantastic, the service is excellent, and the attention to detail is impressive — especially the clean, hot plates for every dish. The atmosphere feels cozy and relaxed, and the house red wine is light and smooth, almost like juice. A place we truly enjoy coming back to. 🥇🏆🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼🏇🏼
This is a late review, but I celebrated my birthday here and it was absolutely worth sharing. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The baked clams were beyond amazing—hands down the best baked clams I’ve ever had. The food overall was delicious, the portions were very generous (one serving can easily be shared by two to three people), and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The wine selection was also great and paired perfectly with our meal. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for celebrating with family and friends. If you’re looking for a place with great food, large portions, and a wonderful dining experience, this is definitely the spot. Highly recommend!
