Unnatural wonder of the world ! This geyser is human timed to go off at the top of every hour, it was only about 30 seconds late on our visit. There is no warning so pay attention and use a good clock. It lasted about 10 minutes. Be careful where you park on windy days. You don’t want water spots on your vehicle !
We lucked out and got there right when it started! It goes off every hour on the hour and lasts about 10 minutes. Watch where you park your car or the mist leaves hard water marks all over. Captive geyser set on a timer so it doesn't interfere with the timing of Old Faithful so it says, and apparently tastes like beer according to the history. Has a trail up to a viewing stand but you could see it from the parking lot as well. Public restrooms that have an area with visitor information.
This place was really cool. Learned a lot about this particular geyser and how it was affecting Old Faithful. Hence the timer they put on it to go off every hour on the hour. The geyser stays active for about 5-10 minutes. Really is a nice place to stop if you want to stretch your legs and will be there "on the hour" of the day.
My grandkids loved watching the geyser spray. One sign says you can play in the spray another days keep off the geyser so we were not sure which was correct. It was nice knowing it would go off on the hour so you could plan around that. We did park in the parking lot near the geyser and our car was covered in a hard to remove mineral water so I would suggest parking on the street and walking to the geyser.
This was a cool place. Although the geyser didn't go off on the hour like it said, was a bit late. Right next to a cemetery which I thought was awesome, to walk around. Worth checking out
Lovely roadside attraction. Well done museum nearby. Restroom was a huge plus
Quick attraction to stop by if your passing by or visiting Lava Hot Springs. Yellowstone feels in a mini version.
You need to come to this place, it is absolutely incredible. Make sure you read all the signs it's very interesting
