Casa Vega

If you go to Casa Vega, definitely ask to sit on the new outdoor patio. It completely changes the vibe. They try to fill the indoor dining room first, but during the daytime it can feel a little sleepy — low music, darker energy. The patio is where it’s at. Food-wise, it’s solid, not the best Mexican food in LA, but that’s honestly not why you go. I had the fajitas, which were good. We saw a Caesar salad being made tableside that looked surprisingly great too, even if it felt a little shticky. The tequila was flowing, the service was genuinely fun and excellent, and the overall atmosphere is what makes the place special. It’s one of those old-school LA institutions that’s been around forever. Also, if you’re a celebrity or just value privacy, it’s kind of perfect — no windows, strict no-photo culture, very discreet. Not necessarily the spot for the best meal of your life, but absolutely a great LA experience.

Great spot to get some delicious Mexican food and vibes. The place is festive inside, a love Lu place for group outings. Be prepared for a very low light environment. Everyone is respectful and professional. You feel like you’re in good hands. I recommend to reserve in advance especially during big celebrations.

Casa Vega just keeps getting better. We came by to check out their newly opened patio and it completely elevated the whole experience, perfect LA vibes, great energy, and the ideal spot to sit back and enjoy an amazing meal. We had the molcajete and it was incredible. Served sizzling hot, loaded with flavor, and cooked perfectly, it’s definitely a must-order. Every bite felt like a full experience on its own. Big shoutout to Joe for taking such great care of us. His recommendations were spot on, and the margarita he suggested was next level, easily one of the best we’ve had. Smooth, refreshing, and just hits perfectly. From the food to the service to the new patio setup, everything about this place feels right. Casa Vega is a classic for a reason. Add this hidden gem to your bucket list.

The food was actually really good. Juat wanted no meat option and meat came out on my nachos. But overall great food and yummy cocktails.

Went on a Saturday night. I asked the waiter about the steak burrito vs the carne asada burrito and apparently they had run out of steak. Then we were told they had run out of black beans and it's barely 8:00. How a restaurant that's been in business since 1956 runs out of steak and refried beans is simply way beyond me! No words. The food and drinks that we had were delicious and the vibe in the restaurant is really chill. I'd still go back.

An icon of LA, even though it's in the Valley. If you have 1 choice for LA Mexican restaurants, make sure you hit Casa Vega. The service and food are both authentic and awesome. They have valet parking right at the restaurant entrance, because trying to find parking on Ventura during a busy weekend is next to impossible. The new outdoor patio area is super cool but if you want the real experience, get a table inside. Also, get a reservation as they're usually booked.

CV has been a staple for a long time. Great food, great drinks, great vibe all around. The food is usually really delicious but recently hasn't been as good as it should be (especially for the price). Overall, I love coming here and hope they keep everything high quality like it's always been!
