Pike Place Market was easily one of the highlights of our family trip to Seattle. We went on a Monday around 8:30am and spent about 3 hours there, but we honestly could have stayed longer. Going early made a big difference. We were able to see the fish throwing twice before the crowds got too heavy, and it was much easier to walk around at first. Later in the morning, the market got busier and walking with our 3-year-old daughter became a little more uncomfortable, but still manageable with close supervision. The best part for us was trying so many different foods. We had donuts, cherries, baked goods, a ready-to-eat scallop, an oyster shooter, piroshky, hum bow, ginger beer, and a lobster roll. It felt like we were eating the entire time, which was exactly what we wanted from the experience. Our daughter also enjoyed the market more than I expected. She remembered the donuts, fish, and all the energy of the place. She found a nice bookstore, we found a fun souvenir shop, and there was even a playground below the outside deck area where she got to play for a bit. The bathrooms were okay. Not amazing, but not bad either. Overall, Pike Place Market is definitely worth visiting, especially if it is your first time in Seattle. For families with young kids, I’d recommend going early, keeping expectations realistic, and treating it as a food and sightseeing experience rather than a place where kids can freely run around. It was crowded at times, but very memorable and absolutely worth it.

Loved the whole market experience. There are so many shops to explore, unique items to try, great gifts. We tried so many things day one and feel like we didn’t even make a dent. It gets very busy on the weekends and though the weekdays were still busy it wasn’t quite as bad. We loved the variety of food, art, goods. Just such a unique environment!
One of the most iconic spots in Seattle and absolutely worth visiting. Pike Place Market is full of life, with a mix of local vendors, fresh seafood, unique shops, and great food options all in one place. Walking through the market is an experience on its own—from watching the famous fish throwing to exploring hidden corners and small local businesses. There’s always something new to see. The views of the water are beautiful, especially on a clear day, and the atmosphere feels authentic and energetic. It can get busy, but that’s part of the charm. A must-visit destination if you want the true Seattle experience.
This place is truly the heart of Seattle. It is deceptively large and some of the buildings have three levels. The range of meat, fish flowers and other produce is fantastic and so fresh. There are so many eateries such as ice cream Greek, fish, Asian and American food available. The range of items for sale is huge such as knives, art, T-shirts, candles, vintage items, toys and handcrafted works. It is possible to see most things in a couple of hours, but I went back several times to explore different areas in more depth. Joining one of the free early morning market tasting. Tours is highly recommended. Show me Seattle is a great company, providing these tours and they are terrific.
I’d love to recommend Pike Place Market! It’s one of my favorite spots in Seattle with such a vibrant atmosphere. You can find so many fresh foods, local specialties, and unique small shops all in one place. I especially love walking around, trying different snacks, and enjoying the waterfront views. It’s a great place to experience the local culture, and there’s always something new to discover. Definitely a must visit if you’re in Seattle!
This us an authentic fish market located right at the warf area and fronting onto the main cobblestone pedestrian only roadway with the latest and freshest fish. Many people gather in this fun place to watch the humorous fishmongers interact with the customers. When a customer selects the fish that they want there is a loud and hilarious interaction that includes one guy literally throwing the fish across the space to another guy behind the counter to weigh it and confirm pricing. It is fun to watch the interaction ☺️ I wonder what happens if the miss? 🤔 It is worth coming down here and enjoying the local atmosphere here and perhaps even getting some of that fresh fish 🐟 to take home too.
We had fun time roaming around the giant market. Fun for all ages! Fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, bagels, coffee - you name it! Specially for sea food lovers its all there. They have so many different shops for souvenier, fun games. Lots of shops underground. But market closes by 5 so be before that. Such a fun vibe!
A must visit in Seattle! The iconic Pike Place Market is an outdoor street market in Seattle with a bunch of interesting stalls, shops, and restaurants. One of the oldest Starbucks shops is located here along with a number of seafood markets as you’d expect. A bunch of artwork, floral and other goods can be found here and is a great place to spend a few hours. Great clam chowder to be had at more than one restaurant in the market and you’ll have no shortage of things to do, buy, and see! I highly recommend checking this spot out if you haven’t!
