Visitor notes
The Historic Museum is inside, and a very interesting visit. The volunteers are helpful, and the guy in the revolutionary exhibit was both informative and kind.
We stopped in to use the restrooms and get advice on trolley tours. The staff were very helpful and so friendly. Plenty of information booklets to check out. A very gorgeous building. There is also a museum in the same building, we didn't check it out on this trip. Definitely stop in to get any advice or guidance for the city as well as get a map. I believe this map came with coupons to use at the local restaurants, which we did later use for dinner at Spankys.
What a lovely visitor center it’s inside of an old rail depot that used to travel the train with travel between Savannah and Atlanta. The building is beautifully maintained has great architectural details has a great gift shop has a snack bar and restrooms and it’s all air-conditioning if you’re in the area stop by.
Very helpful visitor center in a convenient location. We enjoyed walking through the historical neighborhoods and learned more about many locations from the guides inside the center. Learned more about the local ghost stories and other attractions. Rest rooms were in good order. They gave us a coupon for the gift shop which we used.
This was spacious and very informative. I love the gift shops and the many benches you can sit when your knees, back, and hips start hurting 😂🤣. I will say the parking was a pain. Sometimes the port to pay would work and sometimes it wouldn't. I would really suggest going fully digital and skipping the parking polls. There are different sites and apps that will let a person choose how many hours they would need for parking and pay online and ahead. I've seen this at a hospital in Birmingham, Al. I would always return to the visitors center but fix the parking issues.
A wonderful information center right in the heart of Savannah! The staff are extremely friendly and ready to help with any questions. They have lots of useful brochures, maps, and recommendations for interesting places around the city. The building itself is beautiful and easy to find, making it a pleasant stop during our trip.
The staff is very friendly & helpful and the museum has a nice assortment of exhibits that can be seen in an hour or two. Just enough to get a flavor of Savannah. Trolley tours that actually begin in the parking lot fill in the gaps perfectly.
