Old Savannah Tours

Best city tour I’ve ever been on! We traveled with Hampton Malone (tour guide) and he was incredible! He had us laughing several times and was very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah as well as current happenings in the city. An incredible welcome to Savannah! Highly recommend this tour over all others. Additional notes — the trolly itself was beautiful, they offered hand held fans to keep us cool, and provided parking free of charge. Thank you Hampton!

We did a little research to find a great city tour and Old Savanna Tours was our choice. We liked how they were locally owned and have been in the tour business in Savannah for a very long time. They show all the great sites and even have costumed people hop on and explain their local significance. The driver was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A really great tour.

We had Eddie as our driver and he was wonderful. The history was stunning and he was very engaging and quite funny. The open air bus was a lovely experience to take pictures and feel the nice breeze. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Savannah to learn about good places and good history.

Recommend doing a tour as one of your first activities in Savannah. Many to choose from, we chose Old Savannah. They are family owned and local. We did the on-off option for one day. Worth the extra few dollars. We used four different busses. Took our first tour through all stops, then went on others to see different sites we wanted to revisit. Each buss we used had a different driver and each was informative and had some different topics or historical facts they shared. Worth the time.

My friend from Texas came to visit and I always take people to Savannah but I have never done the tours. Well today we did the Old Savannah Tours. It started with a wonderful many named Mr Leroy he was an amazing spirit. Then Mr John gave us a wonder narrative tour of Savannah. He was just a dream. He answered all questions with honesty and accuracy. I even asked some questions about restaurants and just living in Savannah. I plan on coming back with my friend who said he didn’t like Savannah but he didn’t take this tour. I know he will fall in love with the knowledge of Mr John and Savannah will be his new favorite destination.

Absolutely loved this tour! Ms. Pearl was incredible in every way! Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Savannah! Wish we could’ve just stayed on all day.

We were on our way to Sugar Mountain and decided to stop in Savannah for a few days to break up the drive. We’re so glad we did, because one of the highlights of our visit was taking the Old Savannah Tours trolley. The tour was excellent from start to finish—relaxing, informative, and full of charm. It gave us a great overview of the city’s rich history while allowing us to sit back and enjoy the sights. What made it truly memorable were the live character appearances throughout the ride. Actors dressed as figures from different eras in Savannah’s past hopped on and off the trolley, sharing short stories and interacting with passengers in a way that brought history to life. It added such a unique and entertaining touch to the experience. My daughters especially loved when Forrest Gump made a surprise appearance—they were thrilled and talked about it for the rest of the day. The tour was not only educational but also genuinely fun for both kids and adults. It was a wonderful introduction to Savannah and helped us appreciate the city on a deeper level. We’re so happy we chose to do this tour and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah, especially families looking for something engaging and memorable.

The sights were beautiful and historic. The guide was informative but kind of boring. If you are going to have a 90 minute tour option, at least be interesting and maybe add a little humor to your narrative. Overall the tour was fine. Open air bus on a pleasant mid 70's day. I'm sure that Old Savannah Tours has better guides so this is not on the company.
