The Mystery Spot

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 One of a kind experience. We visited The Mystery Spot after our 4-day vacation from Santa Cruz on our way back home, a 3.5-hour drive to Sacramento. This trip to Santa Cruz was memorable. First impression: the entrance is magical, friendly employees, nice rustic bench, amenities, and much more. There was also a dilapidated house, and I expected more from it. But honestly, that’s more than enough. The management does such an excellent job; it’s on another level. The tour guide’s presentation alone is worth more than the $10 ticket—they put in so much effort, and you really fall for their engaging and unique descriptions. Plus, they’re hilarious. Definitely a fun experience. I don’t believe it’s otherworldly; it’s just an optical illusion at its best, and no one does it better. They present it the right way. I suggest booking your tickets online ahead of time, but we bought ours on the spot—didn't take long, and we were in and out in an hour. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended for a once-in-a-lifetime visit..

We followed the advice and bought our tickets early, which made everything go smoothly and without any delays. Our guide was very charismatic, which made the whole experience enjoyable. We had a great time. The illusion of the house caused some cognitive dissonance and a bit of dizziness, but it was a very interesting experience.

We had such a great time visiting this unique attraction. The whole experience was genuinely fun and unlike anything else we've done. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which set a positive tone for the visit. The energy here is playful and curious, and it really pulls you into the experience. Everything felt well-organized, and the sense of wonder stayed with us throughout. I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable outing.

We went here in March 2026. I enjoyed our tour and I would highly recommend it if you’re into quirky places to visit in Santa Cruz. Owen our tour guide was super friendly & when I asked questions that weren’t part of his spiel he was able to answer them. Very funny & personable young men!

It was me and my best friends first time coming and it was very fun! And for just 10 dollars can't beat that price 😁 The entire staff was very helpful, and the tour guides are comedians. We still can't understand the phenomena around it but it was such an interesting experience. Theres food, gift shop, restrooms, benches, and nature.

Main draw to this is the absolutely gorgeous location. We went on a rainy day but somehow it made the experience even more fitting for mystery. What you're going to get is a mix of dad jokes, feeling woozy, and party tricks. Super cute for families as long as you can climb up a short steep hill with railings. Theo was our guide and was really fun. Cute gift shop too and they even gave us free popcorn at the end of the day.

Amazing experience. But you can become really nauseous during the tour. It is a guided tour and hence booking in advance is advised. The guide we had was pretty friendly. Thy show a few demonstrations to highlight how perception changes. The tour is usually 45 minutes long. The provide a free sticker to everyone on the tour at the end. The 2 rooms as part of the tour are where it gets really nauseous. You might want to b careful in those spots.

JoJo made our tour unforgettable! She was hilarious, super engaging, and kept the whole experience fun from start to finish. She even surprised us by sneaking a selfie of herself while taking our photo—such a fun touch! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the lack of reception made it even better—just pure nature and good vibes. Highly recommend!
