What a fantastic place. Bring very comfortable shoes. I could have easily spent an entire day here. My top three favourites are the rose garden, the Chinese garden and the Japanese garden. I loved the fact that it is so spread out and spacious that it never feels crowded, and there were a number of quaint little cafes where one could just sit and rest and contemplate the sheer beauty of this place. I noticed there a few locals with a yearly membership who were coming for a stroll and a grab a hot drink. We interacted with one of the 1100 volunteers at the garden, and had a fantastic time. I hope to come back soon, this place makes me happy from the inside

This place is awesome, came on a Monday afternoon, will need another day to see the rest! Wasn’t too busy around 1pm on Mon. Parking was free and easy in the designated parking lot. It was hot, prepare to walk in the sun. Lots of shaded areas to sit and museum galleries with AC (Boone, American Art, and European galleries). Went to the cafe towards the end and it was amazing! Huge variety of food and super clean. We got a yogurt parfait, cut pineapples, a carne asada taco, and a tiramisu cake. Would totally recommend visiting with family, friends, and spending the day out here. We also played pokemon go while here, it was super fun and had lots of activity.

Third time is a charm. It took us about 5 hrs on a moderate pace to complete the whole garden, green house and museums. With the exception of the library which was closed 😔. We did stop to grab a bite at the Red Car Coffee Shop. We didn’t really like the tea, coffee or pastries at this particular coffee shop. Drinks tasted bland and pastries were average. Next time we may try one of the tea houses. Lines are always long though 😑 Wear comfy shoes, sunblock and airy clothes to stay cool. You can also bring in parasols and umbrellas. There is plenty of seating everywhere in case you need to take a break. Plenty of space to hang out on the lawns too. They have hands on activities to do at the Educational and Visiting Center. We really enjoyed the American museum and the rose garden. Smell the roses! My favorite was the green house, I had no idea that existed. Anyways, parking is free. Ticket price is worth it. Everyone working there is nice and helpful. Enjoy the views and being present in nature.

It is library plus beautiful gardens and art collections-what money can get for the super wealthy. The art galleries are worth visiting but the very beautiful gardens are not to be missed : Japanese garden, the Rose garden, the Chinese garden just to name a few. There are the 1919 cafe and also Rose garden tea room when you need to rest.

The The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens is absolutely worth visiting—especially during rose season! We visited on a Friday, and parking was relatively easy. I’d recommend avoiding weekends if possible, as parking can get quite tight on Saturdays and Sundays. Make sure to book your tickets online in advance, and note that the gardens close around 5 PM, so plan your visit accordingly. Right now, the roses are in full bloom and the scenery is stunning—perfect for photos and a relaxing walk. Definitely a must-visit spot in Southern California!

Free admission is available on the first Thursday of every month at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, but tickets must be reserved in advance on the third Thursday of the previous month — planning ahead is definitely worth it. The gardens are absolutely stunning. Right now, magnolias, camellias, and cherry blossoms are in bloom, but this place is beautiful in every season. Our visit lasted about 2.5 hours — we enjoyed a long walk and also took the shuttle, capturing lots of beautiful photos and videos along the way. The property features incredible themed gardens, including a Chinese Garden, a Japanese Garden, and a breathtaking Desert Garden filled with cacti of all shapes and sizes — some taller than a person, some fuzzy, and even blooming. There are also peaceful ponds with water lilies, and visitors can even book a traditional tea ceremony. On-site amenities include a café and a gift shop. You can pick up a map at the entrance or scan a QR code to download a digital guide and audio tour. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. This is truly a place you’ll want to return to again and again — and we definitely will.

Such a beautiful garden. It wasn't too busy coming on a Thursday. My understanding is that reservations are needed for weekends. Plenty to see and walk through. Will take a few hours even if you start when they open. Parking is easy and there seemed to be enough. There are a few eateries within the grounds, though they can be a pit pricey. I would recommend bringing a refillable water bottle.

I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about Huntington. It is filled with beautiful gardens that feature life from both the east and west, and it feels like you step into a dream the second you enter the grounds. I cannot attest to the cultural or historical accuracy of the gardens, but their visual appeal, regardless, is worth the visit. It is an excellent location for a date, and while I think most kids will enjoy it, I think it is more pleasant for adults.
