San Diego Museum of Art is included in our Balboa park pass, but tickets are only $25 per adult and youth under 17 is free. We spent about 2 hours in the museum. We could have used more time, but they were closing. The museum offered room after room of a wide collection of art. Plenty to marvel and be inspired by. Highly recommend. One thing to note, please be mindful of posted signs and taped lines on the floor designed to keep viewers at a safe distance to prevent possible damages to the art piece. Get that needed selfie while minding the space.
quiet, a great selection, and bigger than I thought it would be. I got tired before I could see everything. they have a wide array of art, sculptures, pottery, artifacts, books, and interactives. standing in front of some pieces that I had only ever seen online/in books was special.
they also have a free coat check if you have a bag you want to drop off while you wander.
Love this museum and Balboa Park. Viewed the exhibit of their collection. Inspiring and mind expanding. Lovely gift shop.
This museum has a wide variety of art. Painting, sculpture, carvings, glass. We throughly enjoyed walking through. We bought the Balboa Park Explorer Pass.

★★★★★Two story museum with diverse art. Really enjoyed it. One of my favorite art museums. NOT free. Not too crowded. Spacious. Bought tickets online same day. It took me about 2 hours to finish viewing all the collections (I didn’t rush). I recommend it for art lovers.
The SDMofA has a beautiful selection of artwork. My son is wildly into VanGogh, Monet and Kadinsky right now, so he was very excited to get to see a Monet right here in town. It was a great afternoon and easy to stroll through the museum in about 3 hours with him reading most of the plaques.
It was Art Alive weekend and I was one of the floral designers. My design is the last 2 pictures..
The event is always amazing and the Museum staff is fabulous
A neat museum, well-integrated into the Balboa Park setting. I particularly appreciated the collection of landscape paintings. Free for students.
