My brother and I had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday at the Texas Transportation Museum. With multiple trains to enter and explore, if you’re a railroad enthusiast, whether young or old, you’ll have a great time. Exploration at your own pace. A short train ride, topped off with a model train exhibit. Like one of the many volunteers said, “it’s no fun adulting.” Trains

I really really liked this museum. It was smaller and not super overstimulating. They have large locomotives and a large building with sets of model trains running on huge tracks. They also have an outdoor area with trains running. Everyone running this place was very nice. They run completely on donations and volunteer time so definitely check this place out!

Very informative and it had a train ride! Continues to add and update after 50 years. Very interesting visit, I would recommend this museum.

We celebrated my son’s birthday this weekend at the Texas Transportation Museum, and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The venue is so unique with so much to explore, and it kept all the kids and adults entertained the entire time. Our guests could not stop talking about how fun and different it was from a typical party spot. So many people told us it was one of the best birthday parties they have been to. Between the trains, interactive exhibits, and open space to enjoy the day, it was the perfect mix of fun and memorable. If you are looking for a one of a kind place to host a birthday party or event, I cannot recommend Texas Transportation Museum enough. We will definitely be back!

This was a great treat. If you want a low pace attraction for the little ones to enjoy with no line... this is great. They have a playground and an actual short train ride. The staff is all volunteers so please be kind and pick their brains. Some have been supporting the facility for a decade and can provide a lot of history about the museum and San Antonio if you sit down and listen. Worth stopping by. FYI if you are into trains collectibles, some of the volunteers can provide some info about upcoming events.

A lot of what they have is a rusty mess, where this museum used to be a great time for any train enthusiast, it’s now being used as mostly storage for their volunteers. The curators let it rust and degrade. Oh! And the manikins in the Pullman cars wig me The Fudge out

My family had such a fun time at the Texas Transportation Museum. I loved the simplicity of the museum and how it was not crowded. There were several sweet older guys that interacted with my two kiddos. One gentleman took the time to explain some of the different mechanisms on the train to my son. It seemed like the volunteers/workers genuinely enjoyed being there. We will definitely be going back to visit again.

My husband am I went during the Spook-track-u-la Halloween event and had a great time! We can't wait to go at Christmas! The way they decorated the trains for the Halloween was really creative and we loved the fact that there were volunteers there that could explain the history of the trains to you. If you haven't been, take a moment and check it out. Great for both kids and adults!
