Depends on the weather or time of the week, as activities vary depending on the number of volunteers they have available. There tends to be better activities on Pioneer Day or on weekends in the summer. Overall, a fun, family-friendly place to learn about Utah and Mormon Heritage.

We took our Primary group here for a day camp, and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it. It was very affordable, and they got to push handcarts, do pioneer chores, attend pioneer school, pan for gold, ride ponies, and learn about early hospitals. There was way more to do than what we could fit in one day. There was a playground, restroom, and picnic area that we used for lunch.

We had our June wedding at This Is the Place Heritage Park Brigham Young Farmhouse, and it was absolutely wonderful. The venue was beautiful, charming, and such a perfect setting for our day. The team did a fantastic job helping everything come together smoothly, and we felt so taken care of throughout the process. Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be, and the farmhouse created such a warm, intimate, and memorable atmosphere for us and our guests. We are so grateful for the care and effort that went into making our day special. We would absolutely recommend This Is the Place Heritage Park and the Brigham Young Farmhouse to other couples looking for a beautiful and meaningful wedding venue.

I had my wedding reception at the Garden Place & I couldn’t be happier with my choice of venue. The staff were extremely helpful, supportive & very kind the day of & during all the time leading up to the big day. The Garden Place is so stunning, had plenty of space to host all of our guests! My favorite part of this venue is the option to be inside or out & I think our guests enjoyed that as well!

We went for the Candlelight Christmas experience just one day before its last opening—and it was such a lovely evening. There was a line for admission, but it moved smoothly and wasn’t bad at all. The weather was unbelievably warm for late December in Utah—honestly felt more like California 🤣. Each house had different demonstrations and activities, which made walking through the park really engaging. Everyone we encountered was friendly, and the whole event felt especially welcoming for families with kids. A charming and festive way to celebrate the season!

A fascinating step back in time. The restored pioneer village feels authentic rather than cheesy — the costumed interpreters actually know their stuff and make the history come alive. The wagon rides are fun for kids. Location at the mouth of Emigration Canyon is historically significant and beautiful. Summer programs are especially good. Admission is very reasonable. Don't skip the heritage farm area.

Interesting place to walk around and learn. We've been to many living museums and while this one wasn't the absolute best, it was still fun. We are two adults without children and we didn't participate in the hands on activities as they were more geared to kids. The highlights include the barn where one of the ladies really explained a lot about the horses. Another highlight was the shaving parlor where the young lady really played the part well. We were on the fence about visiting since we're not Mormon and aren't interested in becoming Mormons, but it was still worthwhile. We were extremely surprised that it was free.

We loved having our wedding at This Is The Place Heritage Park. It was the perfect venue to be indoor/outdoor. The park is perfect if kids will be at your wedding, there are plenty of areas from them to run around to and check out. It allowed our guests to not feel confined by our wedding space. They were fantastic about communication, easy to get ahold of and transparent through the whole process. Their staff did a great job during turnovers. We didn't even need to clean up the venue after, just remove our items. I changed my mind a few ties about the table set up and they were more than happy to make those changes, and made it so simple. Beware you do have to pay a fee to cater outside of their approved catering list, but most places have this nowadays, and there were many good options. We got to come look at the space multiple times before the wedding which helped a ton. We would recommend anyone to have their wedding here (specifically the atkin house!!!) Best wishes to the staff!
