Really surprised how big this museum was. Everything was really interesting & unique. Very glad we decided to give it a try! The Salem Witch trials section (while small) was super informative and fun to check out.

I love going to museums and it was worth paying for this one! This museum offers a wide variety of selections of Art from different parts of the world so, you are not just seeing American art. I was lucky to see two new installations when I visited- Edmonia Lewis’s sculptures and Yin Yu Tang- an imported Chinese home. Watched so many historic Asian drama so I was excited to see a palanquin from Japan’s Edo period

As a Boston wedding photographer, I foundThe Peabody Essex Museum is such a beautiful place to celebrate a wedding. The stunning architecture and gallery spaces create a setting that feels both elegant and unique. The atmosphere throughout the celebration felt warm and inviting, with so many meaningful moments shared between family and friends. It is truly such a wonderful venue to celebrate love. Many things and exhibits to see here! I didn’t have time to catch all that I wanted to see as I only dedicated half a day to explore Salem as a whole. However, if you have time, 3 hours will be just right to cover it all! They have a dedicated section just for the Salem witch trials, which was tastefully done. There are exhibits ranging from marine time, to stained glass, art from India/north Asia to a commentary on power using symbols from different cultures and even a nature section regarding the boreal forest (this is tailored more for the children). I also heard this is the best museum to visit out of all in Salem, mainly cause of its diversity and it definitely did not disappoint, if only I had more time!

Got to go for free for Martin Luther king Jr Day. Parking garage is also free. You can get through the entire place in 2 hrs if you are quick about it. It's clean and the people are very nice. Room for a lot more exhibits, lacking on amount of content. This trip was okay. I liked it better years ago. Especially when they had a exhibit of Ansel Adams. I would go again but would only for a specific exhibit..... They still have the leather back sea turtle, which is my favorite childhood museum memory. Pictured below is my favorite pics of the day.

I love this museum. Second time going and I saw so much I didn't see the first time. Also got to eat at the cafe and the food was delicious and portion sizes were actually quite big. There is so much to see you could easily make a day of it.

As a huge history and art nerd, I had to make this a must visit on my list while in Salem, MA from Florida. The sheer volume of not only art but also artifacts and historically significant things this museum has is astonishing. I had little to no words walking around taking it all in. My favorite part being the marble pieces and paintings. I absolutely love nautical and maritime art and they definitely have that! Not only this but they have an authentic 200 year old Chinese house on premises you can tour! The cost is very reasonable for the sheer amount of things you get to see!
