Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery Monster Museum

No photos allowed in the museum but we'll worth the money for the self guided tour. You can take photos in the gift shop which was very cool as well. Great friendly staff too.

This was a spectacular and very professional walkthrough gallery of lifesize figures featuring monsters and characters from movies. (I was delighted to see some I wouldn't expect!) I am told the display gets updated, with 2-3 additions each year. Staff was friendly and I met the owner who is clearly extremely dedicated and passionate about sharing his growing collection. I absolutely plan to return. No pictures, which keeps it special for newcomers. Believe me, its worth seeing. I visited about every museum and walkthrough in Salem, and this is the best, with the most professional looking displays. There is also a small gift shop.

For horror or even movie buffs this place has everything for you. From classic horror, to B rated movie monsters to box office displays of some of your favorite monsters. Only drawback is they dont let you take pictures. I was bummed about it, but I understood why. I would pay to do this gallery again. Pictures I'm posting are outside the gallery in the merch area.

Okay so this was my favorite experience in our trip to Salem. It just felt good. The price of admission was entirely reasonable for the experience that you got and still we able to spend some money in the gift shop. Like I think that places sometimes lose that thought when they start raising the price of their tickets and then you spent so much on the ticket you can't afford to buy something while you're there. But that's not this totally reasonable in price. The gentleman that was setting up out front with the signs and everything is the one that sold us on the experience and we booked the ticket right there they had lots of availability at that time but from what I understand but later in the day we're completely sold out. All of the figurines are really well done and eerily watch you with their eyes in a really creepy way. I love the original universal monsters those were some of my favorites as well as the giant ghostbuster I would give anything to have that slimer in my house as part of my Ghostbusters collection. The only negative that's I had with isn't really much of a negative at all is that you can't take any pictures in the exhibit, but I totally understand why. For those people who don't know count orlok is the old black and white dracula real name, but I made up an alternative story the count orlok was Vlad's brother and is just trying to get by in a modern world by running a wax museum. He's also gone super politically correct so he says things like " I want to suck your blood, with consent" and "look into my eyes... Respectfully" imagine a dracula that needs you to invite them in, but also asks for you to sign a consent form... That's hilarious. Anyway go to count orloks, if you only do entertainment activity-thing in town. This would be my pick.

I went on a weekday when there was hardly anyone around. While the museum isn't huge, the collection is stunning. Many of the sculptures were incredibly lifelike, and it was so nice to be able to linger on all the small details and learn some interesting history about the production of several classic horror films. I was really able to take my time and I believe I was inside for about 40 minutes. I highly recommend the experience for horror movie lovers!

Best place to go check out in Salem if you are a movie buff!!! Very well curated and maintained exhibit. Lots of life-size horror icons on display! Photo or video recordings are not allowed while walking the exhibit for reason, though they do let you take photos at the store where they showcase a movie production quality Spike from Gremlins 2. Can't wait to check it out again.

I'm such a horror movie fan, and this tour is a must for all horror cinema lovers. It takes you on a journey all the way from classic horror monsters to modern day horror icons! If you go during the fall, I definitely would get a ticket ahead of time, but in the off season, you can walk right in and get your ticket.

I am not a horror fan, but we thought it would be fun to go through since the reviews are good. I thought the space was super well done and the monsters are cool to see in real life and at scale. There are some great things to see inside. With that being said, if you arent a horror fan you probably won't recognize some of the things inside and there arent write ups for every little thing displayed. I also thought it was a little overpriced for what you get ($15 per adult) especially if you aren't a huge fan of the genre. They do not allow photos which was also kind of a bummer and they "watch" everyone thru cameras inside to make sure you dont take photos or touch things. All that to say, it was fun to see and the gift shop is great!
