I didn’t get the chance to climb to the top, but the grounds alone were beautiful and well worth the stop. Great views, rich history, and a peaceful atmosphere. This entire area of the island was hopping - hundreds of people just enjoying a beautiful spring Saturday afternoon.

🌟 A Beautiful Spot for History Buffs and Adventurers 🌟 The Lighthouse Museum is a multi-room, multi-story experience that walks visitors through daily life as a light keeper. Rooms are recreated complete with domestic details and anecdotes (and even a ghost story or two!). Visiting the museum provides a solid background prior to climbing the steps of the lighthouse itself, making the experience all the more immersive and meaningful. Be sure to visit the gift shop as well as enjoy the story film about the lighthouse and its history throughout the years. There is also a water foundation on m-site if you need to fill up a bottle. The view from the top is worth it—even if you aren’t sure heights are your thing. You won’t regret the experience of seeing the island from a bird’s eye view. Highly recommended!

Stunning waterfront park, playground and historic lighthouse. Highly recommend the Lighthouse visitors center. The volunteers from the historical society are a wealth of information and care deeply about the museum and lighthouse. Their care and dedication is surely visible in the grounds, buildings and facilities.

Really cool even though we only checked out the outside. Lots of history down by the water. The pier is awesome the shops and nearby restaurants are fantastic. Would definitely be a post I’d like as opposed to the ones I’ve seen in the UP Michigan Wisconsin ect. Really cool to see

This is not a hands-on experience. The rooms are staged but nothing can be touched. The displays were interesting but climbing the tower was the best. If you stop to read the information posted on the landings, it is not difficult to climb the stairs. The view from the top is great. Interesting History.

The lighthouse climb is easy with an amazing view at the top. The people who work here are really knowledgeable and share a lot of great insight about the lighthouse’s history. There’s a short video you can watch and a small museum to walk through before the climb.

If you enjoy history and/or some beautiful landscape views, this is a great stop. This is a beautifully preserved historic lighthouse with the light keeper’s home. There is a plethora of local history provided along with a look into the light keeper’s life. Plus, you get to trek up about 130 stairs to see some amazing views from the tower. The staff here is excellent and the grounds are meticulously cared for. Will definitely return and do some more exploring in this area.
