Frontier Park

The park is well maintained. It is a large and lovely park for a pleasant stroll along the wide hard surface path which is parallel to the Missouri River. There are plenty of benches on which to relax and watch the river flow or sit a spell for people watching. There are picnic tables and three big pavilions. Some evening there are concerts in the park. A railroad depot sits on the property adjacent to railroad tracks. At certain times the depot is open to the public. People often walk or bike along the unpaved wide walkway next to the railroad tracks, which also runs parallel to the river. Children like to try their skills at walk on the rails. At the South end of the park there is ample parking and the Lewis and Clark Museum. Frontier Park is a short block away from St. Charles's historical Main Street with many shops and restaurants. The area is a popular tourist attraction with fairs, parades, and special events happening often.

20260608 Very nice, spacious and clean park. There were some puddles from the rain, and they are building a large sculpture. That's why the area where it will be located is blocked with construction cones.

Frontier Park is a wonderful park to have a family picnic, ride the bike play volleyball or just relax and read your favorite book. Also it is a wonderful place to have an elopement.

I went to meet friends in St. Louis, coming from out of state. My friend lives near this park that she loves, where they have fall market days; unfortunately, those events weren't happening during our visit. We had lunch at Llewellyn's Pub, then enjoyed some ice cream and took a walk around the park to help settle our food—or at least to try to walk it off. We found a lovely bench where we sat and people-watched, which is my favorite activity! 😆 Overall, the town is worth a look.

Well maintained lawns and walking paths. It's beautiful and a great place for a pucnic.

It's a decent place to take a walk and look at the river, especially if the water is up. There are paved walking paths besides the Katy Trail that runs through the park. There are lots of events held here throughout the year, and Historic Main Street is nearby so you could make a day of it out that way.

I visited there the second week of April and found a beautiful sunny day, along with blooming pink redbud trees. The atmosphere was beautiful.
