Gorge Underground

My family of four did a deluxe tour with Billy and McKenzie, both amazing tour guides. We were very happy with Billy’s knowledge on the history and fun facts on the area. He recommended local shops and restaurants for the rest of our stay. McKenzie kept things running smooth and captured photos of our group that we were able to purchase at the end of our tour. Both our guides are amazing and friendly, making the whole trip worth it!

Great kayaking tour experience! Joe and Kyle were incredible guides and made the crystal kayak tour so much fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely be recommending this to others. We can absolutely see ourselves coming back. Seeing the bats and the rainbow and albino trout swimming right up to us during the paddle was such a cool and unique experience. Highly recommend!

My mom and I had a great time paddle boarding underground! Our guides Josh and Evan were informative, professional and friendly. Evan did a great job guiding us through and telling us all the details of our journey . Josh captured all the fun and even got a picture of the tiny bat we got to see hibernating! Awesome time, would definitely recommend!

One of the coolest experiences my husband and I have done while traveling! Gorgeous! Captain Rob was fantastic! He was super kind, funny, and informative! We learned so much and are so happy that we went! The parking, bathrooms, and gift shop too are all very nice. I 100% recommend experiencing this place if you're vacationing in Red River Gorge, definitely worth the money!

Absolutely worth it! Our guide was fantastic, super knowledgeable, and made the whole experience fun. If you're doing the deluxe tour, definitely make sure to bring water shoes—you'll need them! A 10/10 experience.

What an amazing experience! Kayaking through the limestone mine is a great way to spend time here at the gorge. Our guides billy and mason were great. Billy told us about some of the history of the mine and the artifacts still there. The guides help you get safety gear on and show you around the mine. There were lots of fish and other cool things to look at while paddling through. Overall great experience!

A very cool experience. Cave exploration and kayaking at the same time. Our guides Brian and Josh were great. Had plenty of historical knowledge of the area and really made everyone feel at ease. It felt a lot colder than 40 degrees in there but I would do it again.

What a neat experience! All of my kids said this was one of their favorite activities during our trip to RRG. We came with our family group of 11 people— mixed ages and abilities- so we chose to do the boat tour instead of the kayaking (although the kayak tour looks so fun—would love to try that sometime!). Our tour guide, Jacob, was wonderful and patient with the large number of children we had with us. His tour was the perfect ratio of humor mixed with the history and science of the area. He was very knowledgeable and his passion for his job was noticeable. It truly is around 50 degrees on the tour so definitely pay attention to all of their emails advising you to dress in layers. I was glad we all had long sleeves on! We really enjoyed this adventure and highly recommend to anyone coming to visit the area!
