What a fantastic event! ⭐ The reenactors deserve so much respect and appreciation for the incredible dedication they bring to the experience. It’s amazing how much time, effort, and even personal money they invest to make everything feel authentic and historically accurate 🎖️📜. What impressed me most was their knowledge and passion — they were able to explain the equipment, uniforms, military units, and historical details with such enthusiasm and expertise. Every conversation felt educational and engaging, and you can tell they truly care about preserving history. The entire atmosphere was immersive, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. It was truly a joy to attend 😊👏 and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in history, reenactments, or unique community events!

A few more interactive items may keep younger visitors more entertained. The dress up clothes for the kids was fun for girls. Mock ups of other things for kids to play in turning steering wheels, pushing clutches & brakes looking at the old cars (again, mock ups), or just just having a mock up of a tank even without the real thing to play on would hold younger visitors attentions more. I especially enjoyed the WW1 & WW11 Grants training camp info. I found a lot of it interesting. I grew up on war movies & TV shows so I liked it! Old Rockford was interesting. Now to the silly: I bought my grandson a rubber band shooting pistol but bought myself a few packets of strong rubber bands! It was well worth the drive for a day trip!

Nice section for the Rockford Peaches! A ton of information to read about the history of Rockford and Camp Grant. If you love sock monkeys, stop in, they have adult sized statues and the history of them. If you don't, well, just dont look them directly in the eye, they sense fear. 😅 Over all good time to spend inside staying warm. Great gift shop as well.

This amazing museum covers much of the history of Rockford. Feature exhibits are the women of baseball, sock puppets, Native American, history, innovation, and inventions from people in Rockford and a recreated village from the 1800s with houses and businesses that you can tour apparently this place is also available for rental with two or three unique spaces available

I've visited Midway Village Museum numerous times over the years. It is an outstanding small museum that does a wonderful job sharing Rockford's unique history. From sock monkeys (they have ones you can buy in the gift shop), the Rockford Peaches baseball team, to the newest exhibit on Camp Grant there is plenty to see and learn. I had heard good things about World War ll Days, but just recently attended for the first time. It was amazing! The reinactors transported you to the camps of the various countries involved. The village houses and barns featured educational displays. There were food trucks with plenty of yummy food and beverages. Seeing soldiers march through the village and army Jeeps and tanks in action was really cool--l had never seen a tank move in person before (faster than you would think). Hats off to everyone that participated, they were generous and kind in sharing their passion for WWll history. Especially wonderful for children who lack a personal reference. Both my grandfathers and one grandmother participated in the great war, so that displays that related to their experiences were particularly interesting to me. Such a wonderful presentation. A highlight was a special appearance by the Rockford Peaches! Really enjoyed the camps in the forest area that featured bunkers that had been built/dug as well as tents pitched. There was a terrific mock battle held on the field at the end. My only regret was that we attended on Sunday--the last day. I would attend the entire weekend, in the future... Just too much to see and do!

Midway Village Museum is a gem! Born and raised in Rockford, I moved away 14 years ago and was excited to see the museum again. My fiancé and I spent over two hours enjoying the different exhibits. The staff are kind and welcoming and it is clear they are passionate about the preservation of our local history. We can’t wait to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the village!

Unexpected surprise. It’s a small Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. Lots of Rockford history from socks to Camp Grant to Women’s professional baseball. Village well kept and had very good interpretative guides. Our guide at the village,Jordon, was enthusiastic and friendly. Allow yourself a half a day to see it all.

Wonderful and absolutely astounding the time and effort put into this event. Aces! The willingness of the participants to share their knowledge and engage with you really made for an interesting and an educational entertaining experience. The grounds and buildings were a great backdrop to explore and to really help with the whole immersive atmosphere. The battlefield reenactment with the speaker explaining was very enlightening, but didn't take away from the heart racing action near the end. Brilliant!
