Plumpton Park Zoo

This is a charming little zoo with lots of opportunities for children to feed animals. There are all sorts of fowl and farm animals that can be fed / petted, including a wallaby. The grounds are very pleasant for walking and children can run about freely and enjoy themselves. The famous wolf "Shadow" and her dog friend have a wide space to interact, and there are some unique animals like the serval and white tiger. While the pastures for the herbivores were large and attractive, many of the cages of the carnivores were far too small for the animals and could have used more enrichment and natural elements like rocks and plants. They were also all mesh - without any glass window that would enable good photography. The beautiful serval could really use a larger more natural space, with more stimulating elements in its environment, and the brown bear too needed more space and elements like a bathing pool. I know extending the spaces is costly, but it would really make a difference. I hope the display of the tigers can be improved too, with a large window for viewing.

Cute place for kids to walk through, not so huge that they can't walk themselves, but not so small that we whip through it in an hour either. We comfortably spend 3-4 hours here at a time. Two seater push cars are available to rent and do well on the gravelly/dusty paths

This was our second visit to the Plumpton Park Zoo. The first was a cold day in January and there was literally no one there. This time was a nice spring day and all the animals were out to say hello. We even got up close and personal with one of their giraffes at the giraffe feeding. You can also feed some other animals for a small fee, like the goats, donkeys, alpacas, and cows. It's a fun little zoo. They have tigers, lions, giraffes, zebras, goats, monkeys, bears, bison, reptiles, and more. Would definitely recommend for a fun family outing or date idea.

What a fun zoo! It's not too big, and the focus is the animals. You can get rather close! And so many animals that I had never seen in person before. The paths are dirt and have rocks and tree stumps... Not gonna be easy to push a wheelchair. Couple tips: wear bug spray. It is shady and wooded, but around here that means ticks in the summertime. My daughter walked out with a tick on her sweatshirt. Do buy petting zoo treats BUT DON'T give all your treats to the greedy goats at the front. There are animals to feed throughout the zoo. If you like peacocks, they rule the roost. DONT miss the white buffalo or the Bengal tigers, or the white African lions.

A great place for families and an amazing local zoo, one of our favorite places to go! They also do a lot of cool events during the year! I consider us lucky to have a zoo so close. Can get super busy in the morning, favorite time to go is after lunch time!

By far the best zoo i have ever been too. Every single animal is active,visible, and photogenic. The place is toddler friendly. The walkways are rocky so bring your all terrain stroller.

It was ok. Never saw the giraffes, too muddy for them to come outside no mention of that while getting in or signage. The reptile house was closed, the bird shed was just looking into 2 dirty windows. The walkways were a complete mess. The ruts left by their UTV created puddles and slick ice patches to navigate around instead of looking at the animals. This was the case for 90% of the zoo. It was difficult to see the animals, the actual layout of the enclosure provided less than ideal viewing options. Most of the predator animal were in a trance like pace, while the others looked lifeless. Only the goats and sheep were excited to see people (carrying the orange cups). Stone chip or straw would have made it a little more bearable.

We have been a few times but most recently went for the lights. They did a beautiful job, and I loved the blow up animals in the enclosures for animals for whom it was too cold. The tiger sisters are my favorites! The mission of this place is phenomenal and worth all the visits!
