Such a beautiful place! I spent more than 3 hrs here learning about different animals and why they came here. Also hat lots of fun watching them playing around...especially the chipmunks sneaking into the bears home and stealing their food( apples). There are also has a lot of benches all along the walking trails to sit down relax or have a little snack. The souvenir shop is also very sweet! I can highly recommend this beautiful place❣️

If you want a screen-free day that actually impacts your kids, take them to Animal Ark. We took our 6 and 9-year-old around Christmas, and spending 4 hours walking and playing in the snow while learning about wildlife was unforgettable. Because it is a real rescue sanctuary and not a commercial zoo, the kids didn’t just look at animals they read the backstories of how each one was saved. It sparked amazing conversations about kindness and conservation. The kids were glued to the enclosures watching the tiger, wolves, and cheetahs. The black bears were a massive hit, but the absolute best part was the birds of prey. We got lucky and the kids were able to observe how the staff feed the hawks and eagles up close. Seeing their eyes light up during the feeding was worth the admission alone. Be prepared for a workout. The trails are dirt and gravel with some steep uphill climbs. Leave the flimsy stroller at home; you absolutely need heavy-duty sneakers or winter boots. It is a long hike for little legs, but thankfully there were a few benches along the way so the kids were able to sit and catch their breath. Yes, your feet will be tired by the end, but giving your kids this kind of hands-on experience in the snow is completely worth it. We will definitely be back!
We had such a wonderful time at Animal Ark! All of the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. The animals seem very well cared for and happy, I especially loved to see Quillber doing his happy dance when he saw his keeper! My partner and I both have some mobility issues that might have made the dirt paths difficult so fortunately Animal Ark made it very easy to rent a golf cart so we could get around easily and see it all. Overall, a great experience, and I'm sure next time we're in Reno we will be back.
A very nice facility, with really cute animals! It makes good use of the natural landscape for the displays! This is one of the Reno area’s best places to visit!
The Animal Ark is a wonderful place to take the kids to learn about animals. They have golf carts available to rent at reasonable rates if you are like me and can't walk for long periods. My daughter was super happy because she got to see her favorite animal the foxes while I enjoyed the wolves myself. There are more animals there than those though, and all are well cared for.
We all enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Animal Ark! We all appreciated the clean, safe and interactive animal enclosures. It is very evident that all the animals are well taken care of both physically and mentally. The kids loved finding out all the animal names, ages and all their specifics. It was a wonderful, beautiful day to spend outdoors with the animals and the humans that told us about them. Thank you for the of the golf cart since it made it easy to see everything easily due to my hip pain. We could see why people brought a picnic lunch to eat under the trees with the animals. The kids had such a great time they have been talking about for the last 4 days. We definitely will be back as well as bring any company to experience this great Animal Ark. Thank you very much for everything you do for the animals. Denise Williams
I took my 2 year old and she had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we went during the hottest part of the day so most of the animals were hiding in the shade, but it made it fun to try to find them. The interactive stations they had for invertebrate day were very fun and informative, and the staff made it all the better by being so nice and informative. You could tell they enjoyed being there! Overall I would love to go again!
Nice facility, but during mid-day many of the animals seek cover so there aren't a lot of critters to see. Recommend going early in the day when it's cooler or possibly on a cloudy day
