Cosmos Mystery Area

We wanted to go to Cosmos our entire trip and on our last day we finally got there. It's really cool. I don't want to spoil it for you but it is fun. There is some stair climbing that is pretty serious so keep that in mind. If you have balance issues you may struggle a little. The staff is great and very engaging. The gift shop is limited but there are a few neat trinkets. Although we enjoyed it, we probably won't go back. The climbing was a bit tough on my back. I do recommend a visit.

We had the coolest tour guide. I don't remember his name. But he had wavy blonde hair and seemed so enthused to be there! That was probably the best tour I have ever had there!

I visited 06/04/26 and I throughly enjoyed it! Our guide was awesome and very funny. We took a picture so I guess he had to too😂. 10/10 would come again! If you can, request to tour with Tom. He will make your visit worth it!

Cosmos mystery area was a fun little side trip for the kiddo. Still wrapping our heads around that one I'm told. Where you get to stand in a cabin at funky angles and not fall on your face and get to see the short kid stand taller than the older sibling, always a fun excursión.

My 2 sons (8 and 12), husband and I visited Cosmos Mystery Area today and all had a great time. It turned out to be my 12 year old's highlight of our trip so far in the Black Hills area. It was very disorienting at first, but other than the extreme tilt, we got used to it. I would not recommend this for anyone with knee or hip problems as you are standing at extreme angles and towards the end, the stairs were big steps. Everyone in our tour group seemed to have fun throughout the tour. My boys also mined for geodes. It's more just finding the one you want in the sand, but they still had fun picking one out and then using the crank/lever to crack it open.

This place is crazy to say the least. Once you walk up to the hill, you feel it in your whole body. It can be overwhelming. Wife didn’t make it pass the first room but me and my child finished the tour. Our guide was very entertaining I would definitely come back here again.

We stopped into Cosmos on a Friday morning to start our day and we all ended up loving it. We bought tickets there with no problems. Our tour guide was fun and the experience was a blast! We talked about it all day and got some cool pictures. They do have a small gift shop and some rock mining too. Plan on around an hour there.

My son asked us to come visit and I am very glad we did. What a wonderful visit and Kacie was wonderful, she kept the tour interesting! Thanks so much! Please tip the guides they really love what they do!
