Visited Banning's on a Thursday morning around 10:30 am and there was no wait for a table. Anna was my waitress and she was fantastic! She was friendly and personable and kept my coffee mug full. Extra points!!! I ordered the Avocado Benedict along with a side of one biscuit and one side of gravy. The food came out of the kitchen in a timely manner and was piping hot. The biscuit was like a butter biscuit with a yellow color to it; hot, tender and tasty. The gravy might have had a bit of a chicken base to it; it was also a bit yellow in color and was different from the usual sausage gravy that uses a white milk sauce and is slightly peppery. This gravy had bits of meat in it and was not peppery at all. It was tasty though and went well with the buttery biscuit. I love an avocado benedict and they did a great job of it. Served on english muffin halves and topped with avocado, tomato slices, perfectly poached eggs and great hollandaise. The hash browns were crispy and not at all greasy. All in all, a very enjoyable breakfast in a comfortable and welcoming restaurant.
I've been wanting to come here for a while and finally got the chance to eat here with a friend on a Saturday around 9am. Luckily it was early enough that we were seated right away and I had my toddler and baby with me in the car seat and the lovely waitress offered me a sling for the car seat! I really love that this is more common in restaurants now (unless it's always been that way and I'm is it how realizing it!) either way, love this! Their parking lot shares with another business, while there is a good amount of parking, the spots are a little tricky to get in and out. The walkway in is very narrow but once inside it feels more open and definitely has that homey diner vibe that I miss coming from the east coast! Now the food is definitely the star of the show! I think the prices are typical for similar restaurants but the portions are huge! We got the special Sweet Potato Skillet and shared it between two adults and we were both very full from it. They LOADED it with the meats! I wasn't sure how I felt about their biscuits - it feels like a cornbread/biscuit combo and I haven't decided if I like that or not lol. Another friend got the cheeseburger and again very large in size with a generous amount of hot and fresh fries with their yummy homemade ranch dressing. My 4 yo got her own kids breakfast and loved the big strips of bacon. Yum! Our waitress was efficient but not overly friendly but I understand the weekend morning breakfast rush. Oh you MUST get the Marionberry Poppyseed Cake!! I will honestly come back just for that! Come check out this local gem and your stomach will thank you!
First time here and I already want to go back!! Ava is a ray of sweet cotton candy sunshine and made the experience so great with her attentive kindness and fast service. Food was incredible with huge portions and the cherry pie reminded me of my grandma. 100/10 recommend. Can't believe it took me so long to check them out!!
Excellent restaurant, simply excellent. Cozy with a nice ambiance throughout, with friendly and attentive staff. A varied menu of delicious food (especially the steak medallion’s) and the delicious pies (marionberry!)
It's an upscale chalet or black bear but better. Pretty spendy for American diner but always good!! I love the cheese french dip. They have awesome fries and ranch. Sandwiches are around 17-19 and dinners probably 18 - 29 or so. Kids menu is plenty of food for a senior or light eating adult then you'll have room for their great pies and cakes
Loved this place. Food was good. But we did not try the pie yet. Maybe next time.
Some of the best service I've ever had and the delicious food was the cherry on top. We ordered drinks and two minutes later it arrived. We ordered three entrees and it arrived 10 minutes later. The restaurant was PACKED too. I'm not sure how they do it but they're super efficient and it's much appreciated. Will be back!
