Hummel Park

Hummel Park is a great place to come with your family of all ages. There is plenty of open space to play or just relax in the sun. But they also have great play areas for the little ones and in-between ones with plenty of play ground equipment! If one is full, just find another as they have a few different playgrounds. Hummel Park also has a great ADA-accessible playground. They also have a great splash pad area for those hot days in the summer time. This is a fun park to spend your Saturday and picnic or bring a small grill. We have had several birthday parties at the park. We have rented the gazebo for smaller gatherings and the covered pavilion area for larger parties. There is also a creek area running through the park just past the pavilion where you can drop in your kayak and go exploring. There are also trails to explore if you fill like taking a walk. Bring a blanket and set up under a shade tree or chairs so you have seating where you want to be. Don't forget your cooler with plenty of drinks and snacks! There is also restrooms at the park.

I absolutely love this park. There are several paved trails and few play areas for kids. There's a big creek and a few ponds people fish in.

Love this park. Nice paved walking trails, playgrounds for the kiddos, basketball hoops, ponds & creeks etc. Also plenty of field space to throw a blanket down and read a book or have a picnic. The only downside was that the restrooms were all locked, which didn’t make much sense to me.

I’ve been coming to this park for over 20 years. The playground & surround park areas: splash pad, shelters, sport courts, creek, are top notch! The only things keeping us from coming more is the distance. We’d love to live closer. The main playground is mud free with a soft rubbery ground so that’s always nice. The bathrooms bace multiple stalls, lights & sinks. Splash pad is running during season so that’s always a plus! Large open fields to free play, or fly a kite! There are many picnic tables available and shelters to rent for your next gathering. There’s also many paved trails around and through the park and back into a wooded area. 10/10 park

From the trails to the splash pad to the creek and all the areas surrounding the creek to swim..the park truly has it all. Basketball courts, track/field , different trails, a lake on other side of park off a trail or you can drive around to it (you can fish in the lake also) blue heron lake.. restrooms, different playgrounds, the one up front is huge and has many different options for playing and adults can even get in there with their kiddos if they want. Plenty of areas for parking also.

The amenities were perfect for a day in the fresh air and sunshine. The playgrounds were well populated. The park is well maintained. The trails are paved or nicely groomed. There is a creek spanned by a bridge providing a wonderful sense of adventure.

I love this park. While all of the parks across Hendricks County are beautiful, Hummel holds a special place for me. I spent years coming here daily with friends and my cousins to play hide 'n' seek, take long walls, or just sit under the stars and listen to the creek run by. The lakes, the creek, the bridge, and the old trees, it all has such a charm to it. I truly love this park. It is safe, peaceful, and fun. Anyone from kids, too teens, adults, or the elderly will find a way to spend enjoyable time here among nature and its natural beauty. With the police academy just on the back of the park it makes for safe place in today's ever changing, and dangerous world.
