Rivers Casino

Trip Type: Spontaneous getaway with my fiancé We decided on a last-minute stay at The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino, hoping for a fun and easy getaway. While the location seemed promising, our experience left quite a bit to be desired. First, some of the positives: The casino floor had $10 baccarat and craps tables, which was a nice surprise since lower-limit tables are hard to find these days. There were also plenty of bars throughout the property, so grabbing a drink was never an issue. The room was very clean. However, there were several drawbacks that made the stay feel more frustrating than fun. We were disappointed to find that online gambling was blocked by the casino itself—kind of ironic, and definitely inconvenient. There were no bubble craps machines, which we had looked forward to, and the community game floor only offered blackjack and roulette, with no other options. Getting our luggage to the hotel was also awkward—we had to walk all the way around just to get inside with our bags, which wasn’t a great first impression. On top of that, there’s no pool, which felt like a big miss for a hotel attached to a casino. We’re hoping that exploring the city tomorrow will change our overall impression of the trip, but based on the hotel and casino experience alone, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

This review is not about any one event I recently attended, but about Rivers Casino as a whole. I have been coming to Rivers Casino since opening day in Pittsburgh, and unfortunately, over the years, the experience has gone downhill. I have attended plenty of events there over the years, from concerts to business meetings, and there was a time when this place truly felt like a major attraction in the city. Those better days seem to be behind it. For me, one of the biggest signs of the decline started when they shut down the buffet. That buffet was one of the best parts of the casino experience. The variety of foods, especially the different ethnic offerings, made it a great Sunday stop after church or even a nice date spot. The food was always a real highlight. Things got even worse when they closed the Drum Bar. That was the heartbeat of the entertainment side of Rivers Casino. It brought in live bands, dance parties, and a lively crowd. Once the Drum Bar closed, it felt like customer traffic and overall energy dropped in a major way. From what I have seen, the casino has never really recovered from that loss. Another major issue is the air quality. I understand smokers spend money just like non-smokers, but the smoke inside can be overwhelming. Most times, I can barely stay on the gaming floor for more than an hour before I either have to leave or go sit inside one of the restaurants just to get away from the smell of cigars and cigarettes. Bringing that smoke odor home on your clothes is not a good experience. Yes, the connected hotel is a nice addition, but it does not make up for what has been lost over the years. Rivers Casino used to feel like more of a complete entertainment destination. Now it feels like a place still living off what it used to be. My honest opinion: reopen the Drum Bar and improve the air quality. Bring back the kind of atmosphere that made people want to stay, spend money, and come back often. That alone could make a big difference in customer experience.

The Events Center at the Rivers Casino is an excellent place to see a concert. No bad seats and sound was great. Only drawback was getting back to our car in the parking garage with limited elevators no stairs and an abundance of concert goers leaving all at once.

Rivers is a solid, no-nonsense casino experience. It’s on the smaller side compared to some mega casinos, but it’s laid out well and still has plenty of slot machines, video poker, and table games to keep you busy without feeling cramped. Big win here is convenience. The parking garage is simple, plentiful, and stress-free. Easy in, easy out. No laps around the block or maze-like garages, which I appreciate more than I probably should. Also love the large Starbucks right when you walk in. Grabbing a coffee before hitting the floor is an underrated perk, and this one is hard to miss. Overall, it’s clean, easy to navigate, and does exactly what it needs to do. Not a destination casino, but a very solid stop if you’re in Pittsburgh and want a low-friction gaming experience. Would happily come back

If it was possible to give 0 points, I would give 0 points! The security guard named Taylor was rude to us when he saw that we spoke a language other than English! We were 3 people. 1 friend of ours forgot his ID. We said he will wait for us. He didn’t let our friend, who forgot his identity, even wait upstairs! We went in to get coffee. And he told us that we couldn’t walk inside and stood in front of us. Even though we have an identity, he did racism to us! We told other employees that they made fun of us and said “you are so funny” He said. This is very rude. I am an entrepreneurial woman. My other friends are also people who know themselves. It made me cry that he treated us like this. Why am I experiencing this situation in America? They are rude. We talked to the manager, even he was rude to us. They all made fun of us!!!

****DO NOT GO TO RIVERS CASINO!!**!Drove in from ohio to do some gambling at the rivers casino. Made it to the parkiing garage only to find out they wanted $250 just to park there for a night of gambling! I thought the attemdant was kidding. Jokes on me for wasting my time trying to patronize such a ridiculously greedy establishment. As if they dont take enough of peoples money. They basically want to rob you to park in their garage. What a wasted trip. Quite frankly, the worst experience I've ever had at a casino. *****I CANT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH! DO NOT GO TO RIVERS CASINO!! EVER!!*****

We travel 2 hrs just to come here! It the absolute best casino! The staff are friendly the food is great and the restrooms are spotless

Rooms were nice, food was good , slots were tight. Breakfast Buffet (for the rooms)was very good. Only disappointment was the Internet in the room. I called down stairs and they said they tested the internet from the hallway and it’s fine. I said no it’s not. Never was fixed and absolutely no internet at all. Occasionally you could sign on but was not strong enough to pull up my email. I was told it has to be my laptop. Don’t think anybody cared.did But that’s the only complaint I had.
