Had never been to a Primanti Brothers and wanted to give it a try while in town. We ate outside where they have a great setup… plenty of tables and half the area is covered while the other half is in the sun with umbrellas. We were very impressed with the service outside, the servers were quick to come and check on us and everyone was pleasant and upbeat. Started with the pickle chips which were nicely breaded, served piping hot, and had good flavor. Served with just a basic ranch as the dipping sauce. Two of us were splitting a sandwich and we chose the buffalo chicken to share. The servers were nice to have the sandwich already divided on separate paper sheets (they don’t use plates here for the sandwiches). The fries were good and the slaw added the perfect crunch. I was a little disappointed as there was barely any buffalo sauce on the sandwich so it was more like eating just a fried chicken sandwich, but the chicken was perfectly fried and crisp.

We drove 15 hours for the NFL Draft. We asked the locals where to go and someone highly recommended this place. Our experience was so bad it almost ruined the entire experience. We expected wait times etc because it was busy but that was not our issue. Our issue was our server with an attitude who ignored us 90% of the time and made it seem like an inconvenience the two times she checked on us while we waited 45 min for our food to come out. When the food finally came out disappointed wouldn’t even come close to how bad it was. We hadn’t eaten in 20 hours. The fried pickles were the only edible thing and we didn’t even eat all of them. The wings were unseasoned and the sauce was just drizzled over the top not tossed in sauce which was also severely lacking. I ate one and my partner ate one. Couldn’t force ourselves to eat more. My partner got the angus sirloin and cheese sandwich- the pictures on the website made these look delicious. The fries on it were saddest fries I’ve ever experienced. They were soggy and unseasoned, not even salted. The meat was also unseasoned and like rubber. My partner took two bites and refused to eat the rest. We asked for the check and our server took 15 min to bring back our card as she stopped at 4 tables with our card in hand to help them, glad someone got her attention during their meal. Not that we were entitled to any money off or something but nothing was even offered. Not a question about why we didn’t eat nothing because she didn’t care. We paid over $50 for nasty food we didn’t eat. I couldn’t recommend against this place enough. I only put two stars because 1 stars get deleted and people deserve to know a true experience. The atmosphere was nice the location was great right in the middle of where we needed to be. But I’d rather drive 30 min away to get decent food than ever eat there again.

Heard many good things and we're told it was a must when in town. Our host was extremely friendly and was running non stop. The security guard was even polite and was talking to giest but was very alert and attentive to his surroundings, excellent situational awareness. But our server, Todd, give that man a raise. Have him as your trainer! You can tell else enjoyed being there, talking to people, knew the menu in and out. Start to finish, worth it.

It’s the classic Pittsburgh spot for a reason, very sports bar, and with piled high sandwiches that are much better than you’d expect! The pastrami and cheese is very solid, especially for $10, where you get a fair amount of meat and fries. Of course, most of it is coleslaw, but again for the price, I’m not surprised. Overall, maybe it’s overrated but it’s certainly worth going to and getting a pretty good bang for your buck, plus the service was really amazing too, fun experience!

When you go to Pittsburgh for the first time, you eat at Primanti Bros. The wife and I were in town for the NFL draft, and stopped in the first day. The service was outstanding, there was a 30ish-minute wait but they were serving drinks to people in line. The food was good, but not especially flavorful. Wife's pastrami was much better than my Pittsburger, but still not what you'd expect from a legendary local staple. I might be showing my West Coast bias, but French fries in a sandwich are not nearly as good as French fries in a burrito.

Was here with hubby before catching ball game so decided to get the Famous Primanti Bros sandwiches. Got in around 4pm. Place not too busy but the service took so long. Somebody sat us by the entrance door inside (patio is open but it was hot outside that day) not sure if anybody knows we’re there need service. And then we saw one family with a small kid was sitting the other side of our table before us not getting service yet. The waitress finally came after we waited for about half hour, took our order & that family orders & left. There was another guy came in shortly after & was being seated in front of us. Nobody took his order yet just like us he waited for awhile. He went to washroom & back then found out a couple was being seated on his table. He was then being seated somewhere else. Another half hour later our order came. Foods were great. We enjoyed our sandwiches. Hubby had pastrami & cheese sandwich & I had roast beef without cheese. If it wasn’t for the wait for a long time we would had more meals but thankfully we didn’t. Some people we talked to have similar experience & location matters. If you go to the original restaurant you wouldn’t have the experience we had. It’s about half hour walk from where we stay. I thought it was a convenient location but… anyway not to take away the foods experience we had, it’s great not sure if it worths an hour wait long though.

Came to Pittsburgh and learned very quickly that skipping Primanti Bros. would basically be a crime 😂🥪 The sandwiches are HUGE, messy in the best possible way, and somehow they decided the correct amount of fries is… directly ON the sandwich. Honestly? Genius. The bread was fresh, the meat was loaded, the coleslaw added the perfect crunch, and every bite felt like a full Pittsburgh experience. This is not a “cute little lunch.” This is a “cancel your dinner plans because you’re still full six hours later” kind of meal 😅 The atmosphere was fun, laid back, and exactly what you want after exploring the city. 10/10 would absolutely destroy another sandwich here again. Pittsburgh officially has my respect. 🍟🥪🔥
