Indian House Of Dosas

There were 15 of us, including children, and we enjoyed the food! The food was excellent! We are grateful for the manager spending time to prepare the menu to ensure we would have an authentic Indian cuisine with a variety of dishes. We appreciate the excellent service. Our daughter completed Princeton and this is where she wanted to go for her graduation dinner. We’re from Hawaii and whenever we came to see her, we’d come here. This time we brought our extended family. We’d recommend this for authentic Indian food.

I love the food here but service can be improved. I ordered a combo with masala dosa to go and was charged for the same but they missed the masala and got a plan dosa. Was so craving a masala dosa but well next time !

We booked the live dosa service for my husband’s 40th birthday in Maryland. Chanakya, our chef was wonderful - he was there promptly and set up quickly. The dosas, the sambar, were EXCELLENT. We can’t speak highly enough at the quality, but also variety of dosas - so good! We also ordered samosas, veg biryani, and pakora with chai - everything was delicious and wonderful! Set up was easy, they were incredibly professional, kind, and thorough. Highly recommend them for live dosa service - would absolutely book them again! Thank you for making the birthday so special!

We ordered Set Dosa, Pongal, Idli, Chettinad Idli, Veg. Thali, Filter Coffee, Irani Tea, Badam Milk and Lime Soda. The food was flavorful. Coconut chutney was delicious with perfect spice and tang. Set Dosa was soft and had lots of ghee on it. Idli was soft. Chettinad Idli was spicy and delicious. There was a lot of variety in Veg. Thali. Irani chai and filter coffee was the best I ever had. Customer service provided by Harini was exceptional, she was kind, patient and had good knowledge of the cuisine they served. Thank you !

We had an amazing experience with a dosa chef making a wide assortment of dosas for a party of 25 for 2 hours (they will do three hours). They bring their own grill, set up the side dishes and we had made to order dosas within 10 minutes. Food was very good, including mango lassi as our dessert. Great communication ahead of the event, timely arrival, chef was the best. Highly, highly recommend the experience!

It was a rainy day when one of my friends recommended Indian House of Dosas, and I’m glad we gave it a try. We were seated quickly and ordered Rava Dosa, Mysore Bonda, Punugulu, and chai. The Punugulu and Bonda were the highlights for me crispy, fresh, and instantly took me back to the street food flavors of my hometown in India. The Rava Dosa took about 20 minutes to arrive, but it was worth the wait crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. We were served three types of chutneys, but I really missed a good coconut chutney. The peanut chutney and the others including sambar were cold and felt not fresh and often not refilled, which was a bit disappointing. And they are serving very limited quantity unlike other places which I really felt disgusting. Chai was just okay not very strong or creamy, and felt more watery than expected. The service by the ladies was excellent, very polite and attentive. The ambience was decent, though a bit too noisy I wish fellow customers would keep their volume down for a better dining experience. The free parking was definitely a plus. Overall, I’d say the experience was above average. There’s a lot of potential here, and with a few improvements it could become a go-to spot for South Indian comfort food.

We tried their food recently in a catered event. The dosas were limp and somewhat tasteless. Idli and Wada were made hours ahead and no attempt to reheat them or re-steam them was made. Sambhar was served from the flat aluminum foil trays and was not hot enough. Sambhar had too much tamarind and too little of other spices. Could have done much better!
