I stopped for lunch takeout at Tony's Italian Delicatessen. They have been in the Valley forever, and in fact, they are celebrating their 55th anniversary. It functions as both a sandwich shop and a well-stocked grocery market, offering a slice of East Coast deli culture in Arizona. I met the son, Anthony, and brother, Vince; everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They have a wonderful deli case with imported Italian meats and cheeses, and wonderful-looking homemade cannolis. The chocolate ones looked great. I ordered the Italian special, a meatball sub, and a slice of pizza. I wish I could say the pizza or the meatball sub were good, but I really can't. The bread was great; the sauce was rich and good, but there were only three half-meatballs in a pretty large sandwich, so I was disappointed. The pizza was undercooked and doughy. I took it home and threw it in the Ninja; it made it a little better. However, the Italian special was very good, which my wife enjoyed, so I guess next time any of their cold-cut sandwiches are the way to go. They are reasonably priced and have a lot of daily specials, and the market is well stocked with imported goods.

Second time I have been there. The italian sandwich (salami, prosciutto, capicola with mozarella) is really something else (fabulous). It was a big sandwich, full of meat, but at the same time it was simple. The bread was fresh and soft. The meat was delicious and overall a good portion. The canolli was phenomenal, so good and fresh.

Must stop in if you’re in the area! Great cannolis, sausage and selection of Italian specialty goods. Oils, olives, pastries and pastas. Even imported Italian cigars.

This place is AMAZING! I'm from Maine and it's hard to find fresh food that reminds me of home, but TONY'S Delicatessen, does that, the moment you step inside is like walking into a shop back home, or in Boston, New York, and the owner is so sweet, HIGHLY recommend. The bread is so fresh it takes two hand to carry your sandwich, the canolli is bomb as well. DEFINITELY will be going back everytime I need a hero!!!

This place is over rated. The pasta salad was absolutely disgusting! Pastrami.. nothing to write home about. Italian sandwich ..(tried both) was decent. Store is very nice though. Tried the frozen dinners, not impressed. Romanelli's is better. However, if you want amazing pastrami and Italian pasta salad...I recommend Frank's Deli. He hasn't disappointed my family yet.

I absolutely love this place. You feel like you’re being transported to a small but packed with authentic Italian food, family owned corner grocery in a small Italian village. This place is a gem and treasure. Like going back in time but in the best ways. The vintage buzzer when you walk in, old manual cash register older than most customers. The food is great and very affordable. A hidden gem.

So glad we found a local spot like this nearby! The inside is a little cramped, but that just adds to the authentic deli charm. They have high-quality food and a great grocery selection—I’ll definitely be back to stock up on some of those harder-to-find Italian items. I’ve tried a couple of different sandwiches now and have never been disappointed; the ingredients are always fresh, and even my girlfriend is a huge fan of their menu. Plus, the gentleman at the counter was incredibly kind and attentive, which makes a huge difference in the experience. If you’re looking for a legit sandwich and friendly service, you can't go wrong here. We’ll be regular customers for sure!
