Most of the volunteers that made the place come alive aren't there since Covid. You can still see all of the old buildings, and you can look inside. Learn a lot about the history. The telephone museum was really cool, definitely worth a visit. FYI your walking time is in the direct sun, so if you visit, be sure to bring sun protection.

What a great collection of historic artifacts and buildings from Arizona. They've taken in many donations from around the state to preserve them and it's a delightful adventure to explore while wandering between the buildings. They were set up for a wedding open house while we were there and the setup for events provided some lovely indoor and outdoor spaces for a special day. We visited in costume and they were very welcoming and happy to let us take pictures in the historic setting.
Pioneer is an incredible place, and so valuable to our community and state!! There are many historic buildings and recreation buildings that give a feel of stepping back in time. As AZ was the last remnant of the Wild West, it is so important to keep places like this alive and thriving. I took a group of middle school students for a film project. The staff at Pioneer was fantastic. They were kind, welcoming, and helpful. They were also very friendly with my middle school students, who can be a bit much sometimes. I really appreciate Pioneer as a museum and gem for the state of Arizona!
Amazing place to stop in and see. Lots of history and artifacts from all over Arizona there. 90 acres of lots to see. Its nice to go at your own pace and take your time with it all.
A little bit of hystory a short distance from Pheonix. Worth the small entry fee and the time. It was too slow and hot in March for the "Living" part of the museum. With out the actors or story tellers thepark takes about a hour to explore. I still had fun exploring the 17 acres ofthe facility. Call before you come to find out if there will be any host at the displays.
This is a slice of Az history! Chaperoned on my kids field trip it is an interesting place. I have to go back. We watched a gun fight and received gun safety too. Every phone including switchboards at the telephone and telegraph Museum. So so cool.
This place brought out my childhood and adult fascination with history. I particularly LOVED the absolutely WILD and insane back story about the saloon back bar! You just have to go see it and read the story in person!! The "Northern Cabin" was my second favourite attraction and I think I would have been captivated by the old time, small town Opera House if it hadn't been under restoration. Guess I'll have to return one day to see! Also the ticket booth personal were so informative and enthusiastic!
Some of the buildings looked like they were starting to show signs of neglect, which was a little disappointing. A few houses had open doors or uncovered windows so you could look inside, though they were blocked off to prevent entry. There were still some interesting sights — the miner’s house had old tracks and carts nearby, and the schoolhouse was pretty cool. There was even a wedding happening at the chapel, which added a nice touch. Overall, it was something to do for the price, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.
