This is a great neighborhood spot!! Cheap drinks, AMAZING FOOD and great staff. Their wings and chicken tenders blew me away. This time we got some of their burgers which were just as good. Their drinks are also very cheap (house mule for like $5, draft beers for the same). They also have lots of specials and different events (trivia is so fun here!!). Definitely worth a visit with a group, a game, or quick bite to eat!

I popped into McKenzie’s yesterday with a few friends to catch a couple of games, and, unsurprisingly, the place was packed. I’ve been coming here for years, usually on Tuesday nights for trivia, but I hadn’t really tested it on other days. Turns out? This place is rarely slow. Ever. Even with a full house, the service was fast-paced and on point. Drinks and food came out quickly, servers kept things moving, and no one looked stressed or forgotten, which, in a packed neighborhood bar, is saying something. They’ve got a great happy hour menu and daily specials, though I’ll admit I’m a creature of habit. I always go for a Moscow mule, plus an order of their amazing wings and deep-fried cheese curds, because let’s be honest, this is a Wisconsin bar, and the curds are non-negotiable. Thankfully, they never disappoint. McKenzie’s is one of those rare spots that works for everything: game nights, trivia, casual hangs, or that moment when your friend group just needs a reliable place to park it for a few hours. There’s always something going on, no matter what night of the week you show up. Final verdict: McKenzie’s is a 10/10 - a full-on Wisconsin tavern experience, just with better weather. Come for the games, stay for the cheese curds, and leave feeling like you just survived a Friday fish fry with your dignity intact and your cholesterol slightly higher.

This place is fantastic! We came here for my friend’s birthday and had such a great time. Our server was super nice and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and kept checking in as more people from our group showed up. He even brought out a round of apple pie shots for the table on THE HOUSE, and the shots were gooood. Foodwise, the cheese curds and fried pickles were bomb. The wings were also really good. The nachos are a HUGE but honestly weren’t that great, so I’d skip those next time I go. Also, they're real big on you MUST have an ID to enter. I've been to a lot of dive bars where they don't really care, but if you don't have an ID they will not let you in so don't forget it. Overall, great vibes, great service, and I’d definitely come back for the cheese curds.

Fun retro local bar! Interior has cool car parts and Phoenix city vibes. Definitely a fun place to check out!

I’ve always enjoyed McKenzie’s, the food is great and the staff have consistently been friendly, but this experience was so disappointing. A member of our group was denied entry despite presenting a valid Mexican passport, which is an accepted form of identification in Arizona. We were told that U.S. IDs and Canadian passports were accepted, but Mexican passports were not. While management is certainly within its rights to establish its own policies, policies also communicate values and people will notice the message it sends. It was particularly difficult to understand while playing Hispanic music. You can’t celebrate a culture when it’s profitable and then make people from that same culture feel unwelcome at the door. The staff member at the door was very clear as well that this is a direct policy from management and it sends a troubling message about who is and isn’t welcome. Until this policy is changed and all guests presenting valid identification are treated equally, I won’t be back.

Came in this weekend to just relax. Heard about this spot from a friend. Unfortunately I didn’t share the same love for this spot as they do. The cheese curds were bland, onion rings were beer battered style, which I personally hate. I’d barely munched on anything, and no one even bothered to ask how the service or food was. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here. I’ve been to better dive bars.

McKenzie's Midtown Tavern absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The food? Outstanding. Every bite was better than the last. The cheese curds alone are worth the trip—perfectly crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and dangerously addictive. Pair those with an ice-cold beer (which they serve at just the right temperature), and you’re in bar food heaven. Special shoutout to Doug and Alexis, who delivered top-notch service all night long. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely fun to chat with—these two are a huge part of what makes McKenzie's such a great place to hang out. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, meeting friends for drinks, or just looking for a great local spot, McKenzie's Midtown Tavern is the place to be. Can’t wait to go back! Actually, I'm going back tonight and meeting up with a friend for a fun night.

I was so looking forward to checking this place out and bringing my international guests there. Seemed like their kind of place. We loved the atmosphere and the host was welcoming. We opted to sit at the bar and planned on a fun evening of drinks and food. But the bartender, never heard her name was so unfriendly, actually rude, and unprofessional. She no doubt sized us up, 3 older women, not good tippers. She couldn't have been more wrong, we all have service industry experience from way back and tip well. Anyway, paid a lot for our drinks and will NEVER put them through waiting on us again. Which is how they want it. Even the couple next to us which was showered with kindness and even a free drink commented on how she was ignoring us. Of course she attempted to shower us with gratitude and engagement when it came time to settle up. We never ordered food because of how slack things started out. Anyway, they can reclaim the real estate we took up. Oh, We still tipped. Not like we planned but I don't believe in stiffing servers
