I may be the outlier considering all the other reviews I read. I was meeting with some friends at a different establishment but arrived much earlier than they did and while walking to said establishment Lucky's caught my attention and I figured I would just pop in for a drink and check it out. Security was friendly, bar staff was prompt and I killed some time. The atmosphere and music were both great. Definitely felt more of a party/college type bar but that didn't knock it down any points. I actually like this place and will definitely be back. My bartender Justin was solid, good dude. Thank you Lucky's !

Luckys is chill! I’m surprised with the reviews as I’ve always had a fine experience here. Cheap drinks and good specials. They have a smaller indoor section with a pool table and some games but most people go outside which is huge with picnic tables and patios. It’s a bit straight/basic in terms of vibes but it’s nice! The pizza is AMAZING

Well, this is a complicated answer and rating. Our first night, Thurs June 18th, was great!!! Fun bartender, helpful manager, and a social PR person. We enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and skee ball. We were excited to go back with the wives the next day. The next day was a different story. The female bartender was nice, but the bearded, slighly balding male was not. We were playing skee ball and drinking. We were enjoying ourselves but certainly not out of hand or noisy for a bar. There were only a handful of people besides the 6 of us. Bearded man couldn't have been more rude or tried any harder to get us to leave. Pained sevice with sighs, eyerolls, groans, and just a shitty attitude. Everyone else that came in was greated with "Hello Friends!" I don't know what his problem with us was. I tended bar for many years and understand that you have an off night, but this targeted us for whatever reason. It would have been 5 stars acroos the board expect for whoever the bearded bartender was on June 19th.

Pretty disappointed with my experience here tonight. For 3 canned beers and 3 single well tequila shots, our bill came out to almost $50, which is honestly ridiculous considering we went to another bar nearby afterward and paid almost half that for similar drinks. On top of the pricing, the bartender came off rude and unfriendly the entire time, and we were even told to pour our own canned beers into the cups ourselves. Between the overpriced drinks and poor service, it definitely didn’t feel worth it. There are way better spots downtown with better vibes, better service, and more reasonable prices.” Or if you want something a little more blunt: “$50 for 3 canned beers and 3 single well shots is absolutely insane. Especially when another bar down the street charged us almost half for similar drinks. Bartender was rude, acted annoyed the whole time, and even had us pour our own beers into cups. Overpriced drinks, bad service, and not worth the stop.

We came to Lucky’s as a group of 25, just hoping to relax & to celebrate each other’s company. What should have been a joyful day turned into something deeply upsetting. At some point, the outdoor bartender and McKenzie, the manager, accused one of us of “slurring” and “being a danger” to others and had security ask them to leave. Those claims were simply not true. Many of us were standing at the bar; there was no behavior that justified these statements except for an accidental spilling of a beer, and NOT by the individual asked to leave. Throughout our time at Lucky's, our group was respectful, patient, and appreciative toward the staff and musicians. We made a point to be kind, and we were generous with our tips. We genuinely wanted to support the people taking care of us. That’s part of why this experience feels so disheartening. It’s hard not to notice that the only difference between the individual being asked to leave and the rest of our group is the color of their skin. That realization is so hurtful and left us questioning the character of the staff. What makes this experience worse is the way it was handled. There was no effort by the staff to discuss this with us. They were unreasonable and unwilling to retract their false statements. The staff made a quick, and frankly, careless judgment. We walked in excited to spend time together, and we left feeling singled out and embarrassed. After being asked to leave, we regrouped and continued our celebration at neighboring establishments for hours without a single issue. That only reinforces how unnecessary and unfair the situation at Lucky’s was. I also want to note that our experience does not seem to be an outlier; it reflects concerns that appear in other reviews as well. I’m 60 years old and have never left a negative review for anyone trying to make a living. I understand that mistakes happen, but this felt egregious and possibly something worse. This moment could have been handled very differently if the bartender and manager had shown even a basic level of respect and care. I don’t know if we are more sad or more angry. Maybe both. We were just a group of people trying to enjoy a day out, and instead we were met with rudeness and what felt like lazy, unfair accusations. Hospitality should mean making people feel comfortable and respected. Unfortunately, that’s the opposite of what we experienced here. If the staff at Lucky’s no longer value that responsibility, it might be time to reconsider whether this is the right line of work for them.

**BIPOC patrons may want to think twice before visiting.** A group of nine of us walked from Chase Field to this bar in 103-degree weather after a baseball game. When we arrived, two members of our group approached the bar together: one white male and one Filipino male. The white male was served immediately, while the Filipino male was told he was "too intoxicated" to be served. This was confusing, as the person denied service was coherent, communicating clearly, and helping gather drink orders for our group. We had all spent the day together and walked nearly a mile from the stadium without issue. Meanwhile, our white friend and his partner—who had been with us the entire time—were served without any concerns about intoxication. When we spoke with management, we were told that our group appeared fine, but that the bartender's decision would stand. The bartender then stated that he would not serve anyone associated with the Filipino male, who happens to be my partner. I was celebrating my birthday and had planned for more friends to meet us at this bar. We were forced to move our entire party elsewhere. As we were leaving, a group of Black women told us they were also asked to leave the same bar over an alleged interaction in the restroom that staff did not personally witness. Despite having already ordered food, they were required to leave and eat outside in the extreme heat. Based on these experiences, along with other recent reviews describing similar concerns, I left with serious questions about how certain patrons are treated here. Downtown Phoenix has plenty of welcoming establishments. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.

Best punk rock bar in town. It’s even got that 70s show vibes. Drinks are perfect. Couches are comfy. Bar tenders and patrons make this place home ❤️🦋🌀.
