I cannot rave enough about this place! The atmosphere is so aesthetic, but also chaotic. The drinks were creative and delicious, and the bartender and server were so sweet as well.
They have a book that explains each of their 5 cocktail groups, and the drinks are quite intricate and you can tell that they’re very well thought-out.
I got the Rasputin’s Raspberry (sweet and tart) and the Moonlite Bunny Ranch (floral and deep), both were incredible.
It is very loud in this bar, but being able to feel the bass in the music while enjoying the drinks was a cool experience.
I finally made it to Killer Whale Sex Club in downtown Phoenix, and no—it’s not what the name suggests! Instead, it’s a one-of-a-kind bar that bends your mind with its creativity, humor, and killer drinks. From the moment you open the menu (which reads more like an adventure novel than a drink list), you know you’re in for something special.
Let’s talk drinks! The Mini Marg shot—it’s like taking an entire margarita experience and distilling it into a single, glorious slam. The Espresso-tini shot? Absolute magic. I’ve never ordered an Espresso Martini before, but after this, I just might become a regular.
And the vibe? Wildly inviting. The place is tucked inside an old converted house, with walls lined with Polaroids of past revelers, funky artwork (for sale!), and a scientific twist that makes even the menu a learning experience.
Big shoutout to Ari, the bartender extraordinaire—she’s fun, sharp, and knows exactly how to make your night amazing. If you’re in Phoenix and looking for a bar that’s anything but ordinary, stop by, say hi to Ari, and prepare to be entertained!
The cocktails here are on the pricey side, but totally worth it! They're like an experience of their own. The flavors and combos are super interesting. I tried a savory cocktail and it blew my mind. Definitely a place to check out if you're in PHX, but just know you'll be dropping some cash!
Cool concept, bad execution. The music in here is BLASTING. Considering it’s a sit down bar, there is no reason for it to be that loud. You cannot even hear the people next to you. There’s also very low lighting and you can’t see very well around you. If you try to turn up the lights in the table they will yell at you. Why would they have easily adjustable lights if you aren’t allowed to touch them. Not to mention they have next to zero N/A options. If you’re the DD, or a pregnant woman trying to have a night out with your friends, I hope you enjoy soda water. Overall the staff is mostly nice, but the atmosphere is confusing and their music choices are horrible. Coming from someone who went with a group under 30.
It’s been a constant “let’s go here” and never getting those reservations—until this time. I’d say, worth the wait. This place has the bad-a$$ attitude and means it. Even with that, it’s a place to feel safe as you have a good time. We celebrated two 21-year-old young ladies, and as their DJ did their bday shout-outs, one guy in the bar screamed “show us your t***,” only to find out later, he was kicked out, as this place will take no nonsense from anyone. The DJ and server quickly came to our table and apologized (even if not needed) but we thought that was incredibly thoughtful. We had a great time. Our girls had a phenomenal time with everyone, as well. (We got cool points with them, so it was an extra win.) Great environment, great music, AMAZING staff. From checking in, to walking out, we all had a fantastic time and definitely will return. Yes, even us older folk. :-P
The staff was amazing and really made my night! Christiana was an extremely quick, knowledgeable and friendly bar tender and made fantastic drinks! Jordan was so kind and helped ensure patrons were safe and comfortable! As a woman traveling alone, I would definitely come back because of these two!
Drinks were amazing. Went with my boyfriend i got up to go to the bathroom and the bartender was quick to put my drink in the fridge away from anyone sitting at the bar while I was away! Stellar service I appreciate you!
This place has a pretty amazing vibe. Seems exclusive without actually being exclusive. The drinks were fantastic, and on Mondays they do an industry night where they have a couple of discounted drinks and/or shots that are certainly an experience. Don't be coy or shy, come to have a good time and let your hair down.
