The Bump And Grind

Gate was closed to the top. I was told it's big horn sheep mating season. Didn't mess with their mojo.. still a fun 2 hour sunrise hike.

Love this hike..though in my opinion the rating of "Moderate" under sell the difficulty of the hike! Recently I set out for what I thought was a 4 mile hike..after all that's what the app says..attached is what my hike ended up being a less than 2 mile hike..AND it took almost 2 hours..what you say?..This dude must be totally out of shape..Ha!..I'm not! Mile 1 had nearly 1200 feet of Elevation Gain..thats like climbing up a Ladder for an hour!..There are a # of trail options presented to you as you ascend..be mindful of the route you want to take!..great views from the top!

Highly recommend early morning hikes, it's less crowded so you don't have to stop or move over as much when people pass. It's a really great place to start your day!☀️

Short and sweet with big views! Only 3 miles but it's steep and you're overlooking the whole Coachella Valley. Did it at sunrise and wow. Super popular with locals doing their daily workout. Gets blazing hot so mornings only in summer!

. My Google maps navigation took me to a different location that was not this trail head. I ended up finding it but that was a little annoying.( It is located behind TJmaxx) It is located behind the shipping center and leading up to the trail reminded me of getting in line for a ride at a theme park with big exciting letters that say BUMP AND GRIND so you can't miss it! There were a lot of hikers at this trail. I'm assuming this is a popular spot for the locals. I hadnt been to this trail in several years but this time we didn't stay long because we arrived during the hottest part of the day and since we were visiting the area I was hoping for a more scenic hike with natural views.

Active and somewhat crowded trail, but it's always noce to see people getting some good exercise. I just did a short 3 mile loop (there are several options), but it had almost 1,000 feet of vertical gain snd a steep area of descent. Not for the faint of heart, but great views up top!

Good starting place for hiking the Palm Springs area. Beautiful views along a relatively easy 2 hour hike, that has a reasonable elevation to get you working! We kept to the easier part of the loop (there is one side that gets steep). Fortunately not busy the day we hiked, although I hear the trails can get crowded. Mostly wide enough path, but a few narrow spots. Trails are easy to follow and not hard if you’re used to hiking. Parking at base is on the street. We didn’t have a problem, but during busier times I suspect it would be. (Don’t leave valuables in the car - we saw another car that had been broken into).

This is very popular with locals but was not my favorite hike in this area. Very little flora or fauna and the uphill hike was pretty steep. It was fairly windy when I hiked this trail so the air quality was not good, with dust particles flying. I may try this again when the weather is better and I don't have to hike so fast to keep up with a group.
