Waterford Lakes Animal Hospital

I’ve been taking my cat to Waterford Animal Lakes hospital for three years now and they’ve taken great care of my boy. Dr. Gina is amazing and explains everything very well to me. She noticed elevated liver enzymes in my cat’s bloodwork and we immediately took action and he’s doing great now. We will continue to monitor him. The front desk and techs are great as well! It was my first time finding a vet for my new 12 week-old kitten. Read reviews on Reddit and Google and decided to go with this hospital. We had Dr. Amanda Cox and her assistant take care of the kitten. They were so gentle and sweet with her while doing the general exam and giving her a booster. Dr. Cox answered all my questions and gave some recommendations about the food. The clinic does a good job sending reminders about your appointment.

First time visit for our 16 month small dog that was re-homed to us. Christian, the vet tech, was very thorough and explained everything slowly. He made sure I understood what he explained, and answered my many questions. Dr. Ric was very friendly and well informed. He, too, answered my questions and gave a very thorough exam. The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. We are very satisfied with this office. They will be our new veterinarians!

I went in to Waterford Lakes Animal Hospital for an emergency visit with my 14F blue nose. What was a very sad and hard day was made much lighter by the staff. Dr. Gina in particular, as well as the technicians that aided us, were very patient, well spoken and had an amazing bedside manner. Between drop off and pickup I took up about four hours of their time and they remained patient and humble during the entire experience. They came up with plan options as well as respected my thoughts and opinions based on what was chosen. When Dr. Gina would enter the room, she would immediately lower herself to the floor to be on my and my pets level- a small act of respect and humility that I will never forget. When Hope passed, they also sent a hand written card to express their condolences which was extremely thoughtful and unexpected given this was Hope’s first and only time at this clinic. Safe to say, we would absolutely recommend this clinic, and Dr. Gina in particular.

Great vet until there comes time for an emergency. I had extensive history with this vet, I’ve taken all 5 of my animals here and I’ve finally decided to switch vets. Last time, I took my cat due to her having blood in her urine, ended up having to pay $614.12 in total to figure out she had a bladder stone, Doctor also ordered a urinalysis, which I had to pay extra for, I was told this getting urinalysis was very important to figure out what was going on with my cat. After taking my cat 3 different times to them to get the urinalysis, they kept saying my cat’s bladder was “too small” and to try getting the urine at home, I wasn’t able to get the sample at home. Ended up taking my cat again, this time they assured me they were going to be able to get them, they gave her fluids, and after having my cat there for 3 hours, they said they weren’t able to get a urinalysis since my cat was growling at them. Took my cat to a different vet, and within 5 minutes they were able to get a urinalysis. I called Waterford Lake’s animal hospital to see if I could get the urinalysis refunded or credited for a repeat xray I had to do for my cat, and I was told no, even though the urinalysis was never completed. They also called me to charge for the fluids they gave my cat that day to get the urinalysis, even though they said they wouldn’t charge us for that. Just confused and disappointed about the quality of care and insane prices for services never completed. For anyone looking for some vet options, I would recommend Mcabee Veterinary Hospital with my eyes closed, always attentive and fast with their services, this was the vet that ended up fixing my cat’s UTI.

I took my cat here after East Orange Animal Hospital was completely booked for an ingrown nail. Pretty quick to get in and out too. Dr. Cox was great. Quick work. Cassandra was amazing.

Dr. Cox has cared for my Cocker Spaniel since he was just two months old, and I couldn't be more grateful. She's an excellent professional, always attentive and caring toward my little dog. I also want to give a shout-out to all the assistants and staff at the vet, who are equally kind and dedicated. I feel very satisfied and at peace trusting my pet's health in her hands.

The crew here is always fantastic. The times I’ve had to come. They’re very caring, efficient and professional. I recommend them 100% and my dog Solomon loves them. Jennifer was great so was the other tech and the female vet. I recommend 100% in the event of an emergency. It’s worth the drive and the expense is not that bad.
