Solomon’s Castle is a hidden gem and a very unique place to visit. The property is beautifully maintained and perfect for a relaxing walk under the trees.
The antique car collection was impressive, and we were told all the vehicles are still functional, which makes it even more interesting.
The restaurant inside the boat was a highlight — great atmosphere and delicious sandwiches. Overall, a 10/10 experience. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

What a wonderful hidden gem in Ona, FL. We had a great time here on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon. We toured the castle and the "extra" building with car collection and both were fascinating to explore. It is difficult to comprehend how 1 man could possess so much boundless creativity and talent. A must see experience for anyone who appreciates the arts, history, and more. The guides are well informed and make the tours both fun and educational. It should be noted in advance that there is uneven flooring and steps to traverse in the castle tour. The outside grounds are lovely with many large canopied oak trees. Dining is available both indoors and out and seating is plentiful. There is frequently musical entertainment to enjoy, at no additional cost, at the outside dining area. The food was simple but good and service was fast. **THIS IS A CASH ONLY VENUE. THERE IS AN ATM ONSITE**
It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. But it is worth the drive. Howard Solomon was an artistic and engineering genius. To see what he made to see the artwork that he has done is truly amazing. His family owns and operates the castle restaurant gift shop. And it was worth every penny. Bring cash, they don't take credit cards or debit cards they do have an ATM.
We highly recommend you check out this hidden gem of whimsical art by the amazing artist, Howard Solomon. Check out the movies on U tube! He has interviews with the University of South Florida and a movie about his journey, including interviews with his daughter, close family and community friends. It is quite inspiring! I look forward to returning with my grandchildren. They will love the restaurant also. I was impressed with the teamwork of the staff. The sandwiches were a hit with the husbands. The ladies in our group enjoyed shrimp salads and the chicken salad. The atmosphere in the lighthouse dining room is light and bright. We also had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the tour of the vintage automobile collection! Uncle Jimmy and our tour guide for the classic cars were informative and entertaining. Remember to bring cash. We found that advice to be extremely helpful. We took both tours and had a fantastic lunch. We felt good about supporting this unique mom and pop grass roots community endeavor!
The tour is phenomenal, only regret not being able to have Howard Solomon himself give the tour , the guides and family are certainly keeping his creativity and legacy alive. The food at the boat in the most is phenomenal! Highly recommend the visit!
