We had a wonderful experience at the Oklahoma City Zoo. The zoo is very well maintained, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to explore without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The animal exhibits are spacious and engaging, and it’s clear the zoo puts effort into animal care and conservation. There’s a great variety of animals to see, and plenty of shaded areas and rest spots along the way. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and family-friendly. Food and drink options were convenient, and there were lots of opportunities for kids to learn and interact throughout the zoo.

Great place to visit on vacation! There is a lot of walking but they have a tram that will take you from one side of the zoo to the other (and back). There are also opportunities to interact with some of the animals, I was able to feed a giraffe!

This is a place that I go to visit with my grandkids every chance I get when I am in OKC. This year we went to see the Dinosaur exhibition and it was designed and set up so well. We really enjoyed walking through and reading the information they had placed every where. There is always something new to see and the time I spend with my grandkids is priceless.

The rhino feeding experience was incredible! The entire zoo is quite large and a lot of fun, but the opportunity to feed a rhino was truly a major highlight. Be sure to call ahead and ask about the times and keep in mind the rhino enclosure is toward the back of the zoo so at a steady walk it still takes a bit to get there. Definitely a great zoo with knowledgeable, friendly staff everyone should visit!

This zoo is larger than what I remember, it has lots of places to sit in shade and relax. The cabana near the lake is a nice location. To cool off. And the animals appear well cared for and seems content.

FIVE STARS FOR THE ANIMALS AND VOLUNTEERS. Judy was so informative and the animals are simply the best. Their habitats are so accessible with plenty of viewing spots, even if it were to be crowded. Beautifully done- we just loved each animal and all of the new babies! Now for the lack of star, and there is a lot here: but it’s mostly for the operators of the zoo, not for everyone who wants to go. It’s a beautiful zoo full of all sorts of animals. Just lovely. Also, we went to the San Antonio Zoo less than a week ago- and I’m here for judging the makings of a good zoo because over $300 and 500 miles for two zoos makes me feel like I can comfortably critique. + #1 before we even scanned in a lady stopped us and told my daughter no roller skates were allowed. She has the wheel shoes that pop up into themselves. But the delivery was abrupt and completely killed our vibe. Working in the service industry, you should know better. Working where children are the majority of the clientele, my 12yo almost cried, but replied “yes ma’am.” Not even explaining they weren’t roller skates. Gross. I had to use a lot of energy I didn’t have to pump us up to continue. That’s not my job after paying admission. + #2 We went to guest services bc I was told when we purchased our zoo light tickets in December, we could get discounts if we were members. So we became members. Then we didn’t get a discount and the teenagers scanning people in said we just had to call Guest Services on Monday. I did that. I spoke to 2 diff folks and left a message. No one ever called me back. After not being able to pull up proof of purchase (except our passes) the lady yesterday finally said, “even if we could find it there’s nothing I can do.” Cool! So we wasted 20 mins and I had a sad pre-teen trying to act cool cause she got stopped and told no before anything fun. Loved that for us. #not. We are obviously going to remain pass members and soak up all of the sweet animals offered here. I am just a firm believer (and own and operate a guest services run business), that if I ran the zoo I would want to know how to run it better based on first time guest experiences. It definitely dampens an experience to be talked to/greeted in a certain way. Also, since I’m here- #3 the Him/His/Her who checked us in stared at my phone for a weird long pause when scanning bc I had a pop-up on my phone that altered her/his/whatever scan- it was just so awkward and weird, didn’t love that. I was like “is something wrong?!” And then pushed “allow location” on my app and then continued on. But, NO WORDS were said. We were already frazzled first time guests- just say words, friend! Or make a “beep boop” robot noise- idk, just don’t stand idle. Do better! Lastly, #4: they do not have stingrays anymore! They are on the map, and even tho you walk for hours, looping in and out- and even tho they have full priced cups and items in the gift shop saying “i touched a sting ray at OkC zoo”, they apparently just got rid of them. So don’t go to touch a sting ray! Also, if someone in charge is reading this, it wouldn’t hurt to paint some concrete footprints showing people directions! I had to have my phone out the entire time trying to find where I was and where to go, we missed some attractions bc they’re hidden and tucked! SAZOO let us have paper maps and honestly that was so great. Also, your photo machine doesn’t in fact, take credit cards. So, even tho the signage says “WEVE GONE PAPERLESS/CASHLESS”, you’re gonna need cash for some of the kiosk activities! Thank you, overall for a great zoo. We look forward to bringing our family of 6 back many times!!

Not a bad little zoo to visit. Very clean and a good variety of animals. Even on a busy day there is more than enough space that you don't feel crowded. They also have plenty of water fountains evenly spaced throughout the park. I would visit again for sure
