Absolutely wonderful experience! I had no idea there was such an amazing museum so close in Oakbrook. The sheer amount of jade carvings was astounding! They even have videos on how the carvings are done, some tools involved but the stones, gems and carvings are the real star of the show! The museum is so beautiful, there’s a ton of seating all throughout so if you can’t walk or stand for to long it’s perfect, the entrance fee is so reasonable. You could breeze through the place in 30 minutes but we actually ended up spending over a hour gushing over the exhibits! It’s so peaceful and quiet, definitely going to visit again and just enjoy the cool air and the beautiful pieces The gift shop is well stocked and the prices are very reasonable, if you have any rock, stone or gem lovers I would suggest taking them here!

Truly awe inspiring. We went with a toddler, two preschoolers and a middle schooler and we all had a blast. The sheer amout of artifacts on display is mesmerizing. The sculptures are like nothing I'd ever seen before, a true work of art. My kids loved looking at the fossils, the birthstones and the mini nature scene exhibits. It took us about an hour and a half to get through everything. This place is an absolute gem (pun intended 😄). Would highly reccomend it to anyone looking to do something new and interesting in the area. Also, its wheelchair/stroller accesible and has parking onsite.

For once I will let the photos do most of the talking here. I am so glad I found this gem (pun retro-intended). I sized up the place as a great way to kill an hour before our hotel room was available. I foundit hard to leave. It was as enjoyable as it was intriguing. Now...just check out some of these photos. However, if you think seeing it in pictures is enough, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. And...it's not even expensive!! While I wasn't there with any kids, if you have any budding geologists or gemologists in your midst I really think they'll appreciate the exhibits!

This is an incredible little museum buried way out in the suburbs. It takes about an hour to see everything inside, and the admission is priced very reasonably for that. Several of the pieces are so far beyond any other jade carvings I've ever seen that I have difficulty expressing my awe. Absolute must-see.

I'm a jewelry designer/ rockhound and I found this museum incredible. I love the extra show about minerals and crystals in electronics. I will come back again. I wish they had a book on some of the exhibits.

Amazing place to spend the afternoon, it’s small enough to move through the museum quickly, but detailed enough if you really wanted to spend a couple of hours looking at everything closely. Helpful staff, interesting displays, and a great rotating exhibit. Things to note, admission is free every Wednesday and they hold monthly events. Also, a fantastic gift shop! It’s small, but they manage to carry a wide range of options, particularly unique decor, jewelry, art, and books. This place is a hidden gem (no pun intended)!

This is a hidden gem in Oakbrook and I'm incredibly happy we got to check it out. You can walk through in 2-3 hours and the pieces are so intricate and precious. And the restrooms are clean, with each one in its own separate room. I've never seen restrooms like that so that's an experience in itself. At the end, there's a small but beautiful gift shop.

Amazing local hidden gem, pardon the pun. The collection is out of this world, and it is worth revisiting once a season for the traveling exhibits. It has an extensive carved jade collection, and the staff is friendly! Also, as of April 2026, thier store has affordable actually authentic Malechite. Which can be hard to get your hands on, given how "easy" it is to make fake malachite. Not that its hard to find out when its fake, real malachite is irradic patterns and doesnt have any true blacks in it. Forgive the tangent. But the gift store has good selections is the point that are pretty competitively priced is the point.
