Tonga Hut

We stopped in here while passing through. We love to hit Tiki bars wherever we travel. This is the oldest Tiki bar in the Los Angeles area. We arrived a few minutes before it was open. We were shown to a cool booth in a “drinking hut” we ordered a 1944 Mai Tai, Dr. Funk, then moved to the bar to chat with Graham the bartender. He was knowledgeable about Tiki Culture. He recommended other Tiki Bars in the area. He was a very good cocktail craftsman. Or cocksmith as some call them. We shared an iconic Rum Barrel, and bought the mug. The drinks were very good. House made syrups make them next level. I wish they sold the house made Orgeat and Falernum. It was THAT good. This is definitely a must stop for any Tikiphile. If only for the history. Their drinks and the vibe were well worth it! The address takes you to the front of the building, but parking is behind and the entrance is through the patio entrance in back.

Super fun tiki bar in NoHo! We stopped in are dinner nearly by and had a blast trying all the different drink combinations. Our group sat outside on the patio as it was a beautiful night out. The decor was a hoot, but the long line at the bar was not. Although we were sat at a table immediately. Over all great drinks but be prepared to wait at peak hours. Points for being dog friendly!

Tonga Room is hit or miss for me. Even though the bar stretches half the distance of the building, everyone has to line up to be served all by one bartender, so the lines take an insane amount of time. The bartenders are in no hurry to knock out the drinks either. Once you get them the drinks are good and strong. The decor is awesome old school traditional tiki and very well done. If I want to wait this long to be seated or get a drink, I'll just go to Tiki Ti.

I had a bad experience here a couple years ago. But after my most recent visit things changed. Bartender Graham was amazing he was very knowledgeable of his mixology. Made some amazing drinks that night. One of the bar tenders sat with is and had a drink and talked it up after his shift. This time I felt comfortable and enjoyed my visit. Came on a slower night so service was great. Got pretty tipsy and felt great. Will be back soon.

Good tiki bar, taco truck is very good. Bar tenders are slow, took a while to be greeted by the bartender once sat with a reservation. Drinks were good. I noticed the regulars got much better attention. It's worth going to anyway.

It's exactly the vibe I hoped it would be. Fun, quirky, and full of mid century design touches. Probably the best bar in the Burbank area.

Ive read about this place and it didn't disappoint. We were there for some afternoon tiki and between the awesome decor. The music and bartender it really put a smile on my face

Didn't have food, but the drinks are top notch! Amazing atmosphere! The night I went TikiTronic was performing. So fun, and I will definitely go back on a regular night to check the vibe.
