Westway Diner

We arrived at 9:30 on a Saturday and were told they close at 10pm. While the servers weren't too happy we decided to eat there, we sat down and ordered quickly. I had a pizza burger deluxe and my friend simple had fries. Our food arrived quickly and it was exactly what I was expecting from a diner. Also, they have happy hour specials just $5 a drink, which is good to know for future reference. Definitely would eat here again.

Always wanted to experience a proper diner and this felt like what I would imagine it to be. There is someone standing on the outside of the diner, welcoming people in with a warm smile. Once you're in, the staff usher you to a seat and give you a HUGE menu while also providing you with some ice water and tea/coffee. They don't take long to take your order, make it and then bring it. The food was incredibly tasty, so we had to swerve our hotel breakfast to come here again! A toasted blueberry muffin isn't something I've seen before, but I am not from the States - I highly recommend! Probably the best blueberry muffin I have tasted. The pancakes with fruit and maple syrup was hot, and tasted great. Shout of to the staff and their ability to remember orders to a T without even having to write it down. They are all incredibly hardworking there and always on it, it's something I am not really used to seeing.

BEST DINER IN NEW YORK! When you can decide between a chocolate egg cream or a chocolate milk shake, get both. Best I have had in a long time! Grilled cheese with half onion rings/half fires. All excellent! We will be back to try more of the huge menu.

So delicious and enjoyable that we came back twice in our 3 day stay! Service is great, menu is huge so options are incredible. Classic American dishes to enjoy especially great if you’re there to try all the classics as an excited girl from England! The eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy with cheesy grits was a highlight and the filter coffee is great. Classic diner booths and really good service in a great location.

I have been visiting NYC on holiday more or less annually now for 25 + years. Each time I visit, I have a meal in the Westway Diner. The food is great and well priced, the menu is extensive, the service quick, polite and efficient. Westward Diner, I will be back again in 2026. Many thanks !

While the food may not be the most notable, Westway Diner provides those old-timey NYC diner vibes that you’re craving, and the wait times weren’t bad at all on a Sunday morning.

I had a fantastic experience at Westway Diner! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The menu had a great variety of classic diner favorites, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The service was quick without feeling rushed, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place hits the mark every time. Definitely a go-to spot in NYC—highly recommend!

We hadn’t had breakfast since we’ve been here so we decided to stop by this place. Staff was very friendly, the food came out fast and everything was good! If you’re not an early morning person and you want breakfast in the afternoon, this is your spot! Highly recommended!
