4-Star Google Review: Stopped by Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery at their new location and tried the pistachio cupcake—very good. The cupcake was moist with great pistachio flavor, and the sweetness was just right. Service was fast and the staff were friendly. Nice to see them settled into their new spot. I’d definitely come back to try more flavors.

We had our wedding cake made by Sugar Sweet Sunshine and I am so glad we chose the best bakery to be a part of our day!!! The cake was absolutely beautiful and the taste and texture were out of this world!!! The ladies who made it happen were so kind and accommodating and we feel so lucky to have found them. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Absolutely delicious cake! We ordered our friend a last minute mini birthday cake, a few cupcakes, and cookies, and they were all delicious! They were able to write on the cake and added glitter, it was so cute and the chocolate was incredible. Cupcakes were moist and delicious, the cookies were really thin/crunchy, but still had a good flavor.

Friendly staff, pretty cool variety of pudding flavors, of which you can get one free small spoon taste (sweet stuff!). Cupcakes also not bad to very good, although best to ask them which are the freshest, as I think a pistachio I bought and ate right after purchase was noticeably a little drier than what I think good cake should be, vs a chocolate one also from that same day that I ate 48 hours later (amazingly surviving through plane flights). I didn’t ask if they were baked at the same time, but the man did mention that if I came back the next day, a new batch wouldn’t be ready til 3 or 4pm, which is why I bought that evening instead.

Love this local small business. I’ve tried a few of their goodies, all SO good I have to resist going every day. My faves are the peanut butter pie and banana pudding. Have also gotten a small birthday cake from them on short notice and everyone loved it. They are accessibly priced for the neighborhood. Staff are extremely kind and community oriented. I’ve noticed how kind they are with all of the neighborhood characters and it’s clear they love their community and help make it a better place.

Love this place. Love the fact I can have vegan cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies here. Coffee (we’re talking classic brew here) and tea for $1,- is a wonderful add-on to all the sweetness. Various yummy-looking desserts (you’ll have to try them for me😉). Moved to Grand street, it’s more visible and accessible. Now get over here and have yourself a sweet time🩷

Stumbled in with a group of friends while visiting from New Jersey and WOW Sugar Sweet Sunshine did not disappoint! The woman working was incredibly kind and patient, genuinely helping me pick the perfect treats without any pressure. I got the Bob cupcake, the Sexy Red Velvet, and the Java Express pudding and honestly, all three were absolutely to die for. I took everything to go thinking I’d pace myself…yeah, that lasted about one bite of the cupcake before I demolished everything in one sitting, and I have zero regrets. The vibe the second you walk in is so warm and welcoming, it instantly feels like a neighborhood gem. As a visitor, it’s exactly the kind of place that makes you fall in love with the city. I’ll 100% be back next time I’m in New York, already planning it! Wish I had pictures to show but that’s how fast I ate everything 🥹

Ran over to this bakery for some sweet treats just before they closed. I’ve been dying to taste the pistachio cupcakes and pound cake. I ended up ordering 2 pistachio cupcakes and 1 lemon cupcake ( they were closing and didn’t have enough time to decide). Upon tasting all the cupcake I will say I thought it was all just OK. Good but just ok. I didn’t like the sprinkles and glitter added to each of the cupcakes and I wasn’t a fan of what tasted like marshmallow icing on the pistachio cupcakes. Now the lemon cupcake was great. More my cupcake speed minus the sprinkle and glitter. I can definitely go for another lemon cupcake sometime in the future. There is a pudding refrigerator in the back with really nice layers of flavor that I’d love to try on another visit . The bakery doesn’t have a lot of seating and the staff are really nice. The pricing is also reasonable for the city. I will try to return soon.
