McNally Jackson Books in SoHo is one of those spots that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. I know some people swear by their Brooklyn location, but honestly, if you’re already in lower Manhattan, this one is absolutely worth the visit. The space has that classic bookstore charm, well-organized shelves, a great flow, and a really nice visual appeal with all the colorful spines lining the walls. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time just browsing around. Their selection is solid, with a good mix of titles across different genres, so whether you’re going in with something specific in mind or just exploring, you’ll likely find something that catches your attention. What I appreciated most was the atmosphere. It’s calm, quiet, and perfect for taking your time without feeling rushed. All in all, a really great bookstore and definitely my go-to when I’m in the SoHo area.

I wasn’t even planning to buy a book on this trip — especially since I still have an unfinished one waiting for me. But then I walked into this bookstore… something just clicked for a second, and voilà — I picked a book almost immediately. Which is rare for me. I’m usually incredibly difficult when it comes to choosing books. But this place felt almost magical. Warm atmosphere, beautiful shelves, and such kind, genuinely pleasant staff.

A delightful bookstore in SoHo. Great selection of books and found a few books that I was looking for. Slightly more pricey than books you can order online but still worth a visit whilst you're in SoHo.

I am an English visitor to NYC. I walked by McNally Jackson, went in and came out with several cherishable books I didn't know I wanted. Being here was a delightful experience. I browsed for ages before buying. The staff I dealt with were polite and helpful. What more could book lovers want than a shop like this ?

McNally Jackson is a beautifully curated bookstore with a cozy, artistic vibe. The selection is incredible, the staff is helpful as hell, and every corner feels inviting. Perfect place to wander, read, and get lost for a while. Easily one of NYC’s best indie bookstores.
