By S.Carrelli: Bella Blu is AMAZING. I have been going to Bella Blu for my whole life and it has always been great. Everyone is so nice and the food is so delicious. The pizza is also great and they make it gluten free very well. Some of my favorite dishes are the Spaghetti Chittara and the margarita pizza. I like that the waiters are actually Italian, and the restaurant has an authentic feel instead of a chain restaurant. I highly recommend to anyone who wants great Italian cuisine. If you are ever in New York City, make this one of your stops!
This restaurant is wonderful. It is fun, friendly (and it's staff seems to speak Iatlian & Spanish), and relaxing all at the same time. The bartender (Kristen) worked with the gentleman who mastered the oven to rush an order for me to go.(I wish I asked for his name too.)
I had a bus to catch, and everything went so well. I had takeout, wine, water and conversation in less than 20 minutes. The meal I order was simple, yet it left me full and satisfied.
This restaurant is unique by offering an approachable staff and food that excites even the mist bland palate. This is done seamlessly without appearling stuffy and pretentious. The space is sophisticated yet the staff and environment is welcoming. Here, you don't need to sacrifice your expectations.
I hope you have an opportunity to find a few minutes in your week (month, or year) and indulge in an experience that reminds you - this kind of restaurant can exist in NYC.
i love bella blue.. i’m there frequently. the service, food, atmosphere, bar… it’s great. go all the time,
tonight their hostess was dressed in a skin tight, full body leotard with lots of tattoos.
i hope this is a one time thing because as pretty as she is, it doesn’t work for a upscale, very much loved ues restaurant. it sends the wrong message … you are classier and so much better than this.
BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU, this place is a GEM💎. It's an Italian restaraunt with an amazing atmosphere with comfortable outside seats and couches. I got the penne with veal ragú and it was DELICIOUS. The meat with the pasta and parsley was the best pasta I've had in a while . Sadly I forgot to take a picture but I did get one of a grapefruit mocktail and their chocolate lava cake. I also got raspberry sorbet it was really good. The sweetness with the cold of the sorbet really made me happy and I left feeling satisfied. Plus this is close to Central Park so after a good run you can come here and have a great meal.
A neighborhood favorite — and with good reason. Delicious pastas and salads with solid Italian wine selections to go with them. Friendly staff who know the wine and the food and can recommend pairing them.
Delicious Italian sausage & mushroom pizza and pistachio pesto bucatini! Heard multiple Italians coming in here for diner while we ate so you know it’s both good quality and authentic. Accommodated us with our massive stroller too. Really nice outdoor seating.
I looked at the "Specials" menu, which had no prices on it and saw "Dover Sole". As I was with other people, I did not want to take up their time by asking prices and we had to make a show. Now, I know fillet of sole is more expensive than other types of fish, so I looked at the regular menu and saw fish dishes for $45 - $50 so I figured a few dollars more ($55 at most) for the sole. It was about 4 or 5 strips with a few asparagus spears... very good, done very well. I was happy. Then I got the bill. $82.00. I asked the waiter, who called over the manager who informed me that the price was posted on a blackboard outside the restaurant. I paid the bil and walked outside with one of my friends and we both looked for this blackboard. There wasn't any. There was no time to call over the manager again so we left.

★★★★★We had a fantastic time here after attending an event at Asia Society. The lobster spaghetti which was the specialty of the night was topnotch with generous portions of lobster. The brunello wine was velvety and full-bodied which I greatly enjoyed. My friends got the crab and shrimp pasta which they also loved. Desserts were surprisingly good, light yet decadent. Lastly, service was impeccable with the most dedicated staff. Bravo!
